Sunday in San Gimignano

Jan 07, 2009 23:10

We woke up to a perfect weather. Breakfast was prepared by Carla, who spoke zilch English but wasn't deterred to converse with us. She reminded me of Carly Simon, the woman with crazy hair but a great body for her age.

San Gimignano is a small walled medieval hill town in the province of Siena, Tuscany. It's medieval architecture can be seen several km outside town.

I will let the pictures do the talking & hope we did the town justice.

We were eating the whole time: pizza, gelato, bruschetta...we captured some fantastic shots of the locals.

I felt a flu bug coming on after taking a siesta. It was a shame 'cos the restaurant that we went to, Chiribirri, was fantastic & I kindda missed out the exotic funky Tuscan food. Darren was really into the Fiorentine steak and was egging Wei to share it with him. Flo teased them as a gay couple, always sharing food.

The steak was massive but surprisingly juicy and fab tasting....and this coming from a non-steak fan.

What's left of the steak.
