Hypnobirthing: Class I

Sep 14, 2009 19:09

Ginny asked each of us to list down what our negative thoughts are to pregnancy, birth and beyond. If each of us did not confront our negative issues now, it will play out during labour and affect the relationship the mother has with the child, the mother with the father. So we had to turn our negative thought to positive focus points.

When it came to Wei, he said that his fear is that he won't be around for the birth of his child or childhood. Knowing that he is a cancer survivor, the issue of fatality is very real for him.

It was a valid concern, no doubt. Each parent puts the fear at the back of their minds if they live to see their child's first steps, 5th birthday, first tennis game, 18th birthday, graduation, wedding etc.

Still, I felt like slapping his shoulder for saying that.

And I couldn't help the tears from coming down my cheeks.

hypnobirthing, love
