Gah! It's freezing in here! Yay weather.
Really got into a groove working in here last night. Got a lot done on my plates. They still need some finessing of edges and blending and whatnot, but the bulk of the work is done. Still have to figure out how I want to print them. The red on black was nice.
KLX is this weekend. I'm missing most of it. I may hit a dance tomorrow. I was going to go to the main dance last night, but I figured that I should work through the groove, seeing as I don't hit one that often when it comes to work. Plus Geoff came over to my apt last night and stayed the night, so I would have had to leave early anyway. And it was $12 to get in.
So after all my bitching about Geoff never staying over at my place, from the last two times (the only two times I might add) I don't really like it that much. When I go over to his place, we hang out, but we mostly do our own things. Sometimes we'll put on a movie and watch that together, or cook together or something. But he came over with nothing in mind to do. I felt like I had to keep him entertained (and at the back of my mind I'm thinking I have to keep the experience positive so he'll want to come back).
Differences:
1. When I stay at his place, I'll show up at dinnertime and stay through until the morning; He got to my place at about 11. This time it was my fault because I was at the studio earlier in the evening, but last time that's the time that he voluntarily got there.
2. He refuses to work at my place at all. I take stuff to work on to his place all the time, even though oftentimes it's inconvenient (a lot of my stuff has to be done in studio). It is not that big a deal to pack up a computer and take it over. We have wireless internet. It's not any noisier or distracting than working at his place.
3. For some reason he doesn't want to snuggle with me in my bed. He wants to sleep on his own side.
Psh. Anyway. Today was the Fall Festival at St. Joseph's School, which is a Catholic elementary school, and we always go and dance as part of the entertainment. Then they give us free food. More people here this year than last year, and then two guys from Slow Blind Hill played, and we danced to that. It was pretty good. Geoff took me home and then left, and I came to the studio with Betsy and worked for a while. Hit a point of not wanting to work anymore, so I'm bumming around on the internet until she's ready to go. I think we're going to make pizzas tonight and hang out. Eileen is away this weekend at a wedding in Memphis.
Man. Fall Break is not much of a break at all, and that sucks. I have an art history midterm next week. Intaglio critique Wednesday, and Photography critique Thursday. Blah
