all by myseeeeeeelf
don't wanna be all by myyyseeeeeeeelf anymore.

i just got back from dropping off mike at the airport (mike come back!). i know. i'm being a drama queen.

so one whirlwind of a week has gone by, and i find myself missing california. damn was it humid here (but locals claim it's never like this; that the humidity was because of katrina), and damn are there a lot of jack-ass drivers on the road. if you think i drove agressively in california, check me out now :p and it seems that many of the people just aren't as friendly... particularly in the food-service industry. even at the nicer restaurants, it doesn't seem like the hostess or the waitress really care. "how're you two doing," she asked as she turned her back toward us. nice. also, connecticut has implemented car taxes for cars registered out of state; some people can get away with it, but i can't since i need a parking permit to park on the street. so in order to get my permit, i need to pay fucking expensive taxes on my car. poopala.

but, the east coast IS beautiful... so many trees. so many rivers. it'll be interesting to see what the fall and the winter months will bring.

the program hasn't quite begun yet; we've just gotten through orientation and school will start tuesday. and thus my social life becomes nil (of course i'll try my best not to let this happen or else i'll go absolutely nuts). but really... things are gonna start getting busy, not to mention more complicated. how do i get to clinicals in the snow? what if i need to find parking in the middle of the night and there's no one to accompany me to walk me home? where should i leave my car when i fly home for the holidays? though new haven has quite a few beautiful spots, it's still a rather shady city. but it's good to know that most crimes that are committed are petty thievery and not rape.

on a side note, i have pictures from the drive over... and i'll probably take some pictures of the school or the city as the weather changes. too bad i don't really know how to post though. any suggestions?

what else... what else can i write... oh! i am thrilled by the faculty; they're so friendly and they really care about our progress. i also really like that they go by first names and enthusiastically remind us so. i think i picked the right program.

ok. that's it for now. time to take care of business.
