it's been an eventful weekend so far. steve missed out; he was supposed to come but called momma at 3 saying he couldn't make it because he had a sore throat, even though he had confirmed earlier in the morning of the night's plans. whatevers, you flake. one day, momma's not gonna put up with it anymore. anyway, on friday, i went with mike and momma to a persian restaurant in irvine; turns out that this was the type of food that mike grew up with and sometimes he finds himself craving it (though he didn't like it too much when he was a kid though. his parents had to force feed him caviar since that was the cheapest thing you could buy over by the caspian sea). mike's grandma makes better salat olivie though, but the dolma was good. afterwards we went and saw a flamenco show that we had tickets for months in advance. the dancing was spectacular and the guitar playing was the best i've ever seen... and no picks either! (so THERE, jesse cook! :p)
yesterday, went over to grandma's with mike to have lunch with grand aunt #4, #5, and #6. mmmmm... dumplings. then later had dinner with more relatives. mmmmm... chinese food. i think that's all i basically do whenever i go see grandma or dadda -- go eat good food :p
also, i saw some old friends from high school. emmy and heidi i see on occassion, and i'll be seeing heidi more since she'll be over at columbia, but kristin i haven't seen since high school. good times good times. we stayed out til 3 just chatting :) aaahh... loitering in the parking lot last night brought back memories of loitering in the high school parking lot on friday afternoons as we tried to figure out what we wanted to do on a friday night. i like the conversations that i can have with my friends. i like how open i can be with them. though my roomies are sweet, i wonder how open i can be around them. they're not gonna just find out i'm a freak, but THEFREAK.
