gift episodes 8th to 12th...
8th gift, Seras/Walter, Hellsing
One thing you might not have expected to see in the manor, was a Christmas Tree. With hardened mercenaries, a rather manly lady of the house and a shifty butler, not to forget two vampires inhabiting the manor, Christmas was not the first thing to come to your mind. But right there in the lobby was a big Christmas Tree, decorated with candles, baubles and what else was ever included to the tree. It was also decorated with a style, instead of just cluttering it. Courtesy of Walter, no doubt.
Seras stood by the tree, watching how it glistened under the moonlight shining from the windows. It was beautiful and reminded her of some happier Christmas'. She was also trying to figure out if she should open the present labeled as hers, or to wait until morning arrived.
“Go ahead.” Walter's voice echoed form the door. “You're looking at it like a kid, so open it.”
Seras glanced at the door, seeing Walter smile at her and nodding towards the large package. She lifted it easily and proceeded to rip off the wrappings. Inside was a decorated case that held a new cannon. It wasn't decorated nor did it have a name on it.
“I figured you might want to start learning to make these yourself.” Walter said. “So I got this for your first try. I'll teach you when you have time. You'll need to decorate and name it for yourself too, once you get it ready.”
Seras broke into grin. At least she would not be dependent on Walter to mend her weapons when on mission. She thought this was a best gift ever.
9th gift, Ichigo/Rukia, Bleach
“Where is that carrot top?” Rukia grumpled, stomping her feet in the brisk weather. She and Ichigo had
decided to meet at the park, on Christmas Eve. Rukia was called to the Soul Society for the Christmas dinner with her brother on Christmas Day, so the two had decided to exchange gifts a evening before.
Stars were shining brightly and snowflakes were falling down softly. A perfect Christmas Eve. Rukia enjoyed snow but right now she was getting impatient. Ichigo was late, again. Lazy bum.
“Sorry. The store was crowded.” Gruff voice said behind her, causing her to whip around to see her friend. Ichigo had snow on his shoulders and he was breathing heavily.
“Here.” He said handing out a small package, wrapped in a golden paper. “Merry Christmas.”
“Merry Christmas.” Rukia echoed, giving him his gift too. She the proceeded to open her gift, eagerly.
Inside was a charm bracelet with a single delicate looking snowflake attached to it. It was the most beautiful bracelet she had seen.
“It reminded me of your zanpakuto.” Ichigo said, quietly.
Rukia lifted her eyes to his, amazed. It seemed the carrot top payed attention when he wanted to.
10th gift, Kagome/Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha
“Ouch!”
A thumb, clatter and a sound of glass breaking was heard from the dried up well. Indicating that Kagome had returned and obviously not in good terms. She wasn't clumsy, but something tripped her the moment the light disappeares, causing her to drop few of the items she held in her arms.
“Hn.”
A very unhappy voice sounded from behind her. She slowly turned and found Sesshoumaru standing behind her, a smelly goo dripping from the peaks of his armor.
“Clumsy human.” He said, eyes narrowing.
“Sneaky demon. I told you to stay away from the well when I'm scheduled to come back.” Kagome snarled back at him, annoyed over the fact that one of the gifts was now broken and she would need to go back buy a new one.
“That was for you, by the way. You might as well use the opportunity to polish your armor, as it's drowned with the polishing liquid anyway.” She said, starting to climb out of the well, leaving a slightly stunned and miffed taiyoukai behind her.
She could have sworn she heard him mutter something like “worth it” before he leaped out. Kagome smirked. So he liked what he saw under her skirt. Maybe that should be his gift instead.
11th Gift, Himeno/Takako Prétear
Himeno Awayuki was as usual walking home from school. Even though things had gotten better in the manor after defeating the Princess of Disaster, and Mawata usually offered her a ride, she still enjoyed the long walk to home. When the weather was nice of course. Today it was, and Himeno was briskly walking towards the large manor outside of the city.
Christmas was nearing and she only had two days to buy gifts. Everyone else she had pretty much figured out, but Takako was still a mystery. What to buy for a person who had almost destroyed everything and now claimed to be perfectly happy with her current life?
Then it hit her. Why not ask Sasame? He knew Takako the best. And then Himeno would not accidentally buy something that might cause embarrassment to any of them. With that thought, she took of to the house where Leafe Knights now lived, hopefully finding Sasame alone.
On Christmas Day, Leafe Knights arrived to the Awayuki manor to celebrate the Christmas with Himeno's family. When exchanging gifts was almost over, Himeno winked to Sasame and nudged Mannen to come with her.
Moments later they appeared, Mannen carrying a small stuatue, apparently made from the ice. The statue was a perfect picture of Takako and Sasame skating over the pond.
“This is for you, Takako. I did not know what else to give, but apparently when I pret with Mannen, I can sculpt ice however I wish. And this is an outcome. I hope you like it.” Himeno said while Mannen held the statue for Takako.
Black-haired woman was speechless and hesitantly touched the statue. It felt cold but to her amazement it did not melt under her hand.
“How?” She asked, and Himeno, knowing what she meant, answered without hesitation.
“I found this when I woke up after the Tree was down.” She smiled broadly. “When I add together a little bit of Magic from all of the Knights, I can make anything I want. Like, if I want the ice not to melt ever, it wont. So I asked all the Knights to give some of their magic to me, and then me and Mannen did this.”
The happily smiling pink haired girl had no time to explain anymore, because she was tackled down by a crying former Fenrir. Judging from the big smile that was on Takako's face despite the tears, the gift was spot on.
12th Gift Naru/Mai Ghost Hunt
Naru, or Oliver Davis as his real name was, walked into the store absentmindedly. He abhorred doing gift shopping. He abhorred shopping alltogether. Specially if he was with his mother. And Luella Davis had just dragged him to one of the Tokyo's many shopping districts to find a gift for his assistant and girlfriend, Mai.
Why did it matter to his mother that he had not planned to give Mai a girly gift like perfume or jewelery, he did not understand. And lingerie. It was not his mother's business in what stage his and Mai's relationship was. And he would not buy her lingerie, because he preferred her without. End of story.
So after a horrendous two hours of being led from shop to shop (where her mother found perfect gifts for someone and he found none) he finally managed to slip from under his mother's eyes (like he needed a babysitter) and slipped through the doors to the shop he was now looking around in.
It was a bookstore. A very old one too, selling old leatherbacks and newest trend books too. It was obviously a very good bookstore, and Naru was wondering why he had not been in it before. Trust the manager of Psychic Research company to find a bookstore that even had its own section for book about parapsychology and everything related to it.
On Christmas Day Mai received a rather large and angular present from Naru. A book, Luella sighed. Would that boy ever learn?
To her astonishment, Mai's eyes lit as she ripped the wrapping off and gently caressed the book's covers.
“How did you know I was looking for this?” She asked, not looking up from the book, leafing it gently.
“I didn't. I just saw that and thought of you.”
Oh, Luella thought with raised eyebrow as she watched the chain reaction Naru's words caused, maybe he had learned.
