A long silence online is usually a sign of a busy life behind! And so very true. We have so many rooms ripped up in renos and only now are starting to see completion. Both boys bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, front entrance, storage rooms and all of them have to be empty before the work can be done. New floors, new paint jobs and new counters/fixtures. All with a deadline of " End of June".
Why? because we are returning to Alberta. I would say " come hell or high water" but that would have been last year's weather forecast. Instead I have apparently told the universe once too often that if things get much more stressful I am going to " go gypsy" and run away. This summer.. I am officially going gypsy.
We pack up the 5th wheel, box up the house and we head east with no safety net or known place to land. AKA No residence secured on the other end. A leap of faith. Without the security on the other end there is a great deal of potential fear sitting low in the belly but no great success ( or adventure ) started without risk. We will not be without shelter ( we have the trailer) and we are not without employment ( Shane is even improving that!). Our NEEDS are covered. Food, shelter, water and, MOST important, LOVE.
Alberta has our Posy ( I never know if that is the right spelling. You know what I mean anyhow) and it brings hubby back into the fold. Sadly, we will be leaving Dman behind to finish his grade 12 year in BC before returning to us in AB. It's only a year but it is hard to say that the whole family is back together. Someday he will spread his wings and leave his momma ( sniffle) but not yet. I am not sure I am ready. Regardless, he is 17 and has a safe world here for him to test some independence on. We will always be available for him to return to. That is... until I turn his bedroom into my scrap room. At that point he will get a hammock in the garage! BUT he will always be welcome! LOL
So... I take a break from painting ceilings and prepping this massive monstrosity of a house for sale and post this beginning to the intertubes. This house has taught us a lot. A LOT. A lot about what NEEDS are and Needs AREN'T ( no one NEEDS 3200sq ft) and has been a great demonstration of the love and strength this Irish Horde has. A level of devotion that can't be broken by duress or distance. We know what we need... Each Other. The rest will fall into place... even if it's encouraged with an irish splitting mall!
