Late last week, I threw a temper tantrum about the state of bread at my grocery store-I couldn’t find anything whole grain, no cellulose, no high fructose corn syrup. It didn’t matter that I could go somewhere else and find something that met those standards, I was just ticked, because all of a sudden that seemed like such a small order for a loaf ( Read more... )

Ooh, I'm glad the bread turned out well, yay! And booo, cramps; I hope they leave you alone soon.

The bread is delightful! Lea and I had some with butter and honey when it was fresh out of the oven, and then I made a list of Things I'd Eat with This Bread: Peanut butter! Cheeses! Broth! More of this bread! It's a good list. *g*

And thank you, bb. Cramps woke me up at 4:30 in the morning and then that was that for sleeping. I am very, very glad they are just a first day problem.

Also, your icon remains vaguely threatening. <3

I am SUPER impressed with your bread skills! Did you have a recipe? It sounds amazing.

Thank you! Bread is just so totally a thing I always think I'm too lazy to make, but in reality I love recipes that take a bit of work. And this one seemed really beginner-friendly. Also, really good, especially fresh out of the oven with a little butter and honey.

This is the bread recipe I used--except I halved it, because it would take 6 months for my household to eat 6 loaves of bread. *g* There's one instruction that then needed to be tweaked, step 2, but otherwise it was fine.

Also, the loaves aren't enormous, it turns out. I think if I'd made them in the bread pan, I'd probably have gotten two sandwich-size loaves. Totally adequate! And having made it to the recipe once, I think it seems really flexible and all kinds of seeds or nuts or dried fruit or herbs could be added as you please, which is a thing I love about new recipes.

What Chris Evans movies did you watch? And more importantly, did you watch the pilot episode of opposite sex where he dresses in drag, lipsyncs, and dances? (cos you totally should)

We watched What's Your Number, which was cute and he spent a lot of time mostly naked. \o/

He seems like such a charming, good-hearted bro type of dude--I bet he's adorable in that pilot.
