I wish I could have posted last night, but it was waaay too late for that. Also, I might have still been shaking. I don't know if it's the fact that I watched it with the SQUee or if it was just an awesome concert, but Arashi Around Asia+ in Dome was my favorite flail so far. I mean, 5x10 is a classic and I love it to bits and pieces, but there was not nearly enough gyrating hips for my taste. Sadly, this did not feature any shirtless-ness but it was still epic, epic win.
Let the keysmash begin: J;LKFJWEOUTKJF;LASNGF;ATJ. Okay, enough of that.
So here's what I remember of my first impression because I hadn't actually seen this concert before buying it O_O...The Overture was way cool. I liked the fast forward-rewind thing. Sakura Sake is always win. Alright, I know it's really kinda lame, but I super-duper ♥ Lucky Man. A lot. I love everything about it...especially the shiny pants. So I flailed over this one. But then there was COOL & SOUL which is one of my favorite things to listen to with headphones. Now, it will carry a whole new meaning. It was ... actually, I don't have the words to describe Sho's hips. Porn-tastic? Brain-melting would be appropriate. Honestly, Tori-chan and I missed it the first time around and had to rewind after Senpai pointed out that Sho had to pause in his descent of the stairs in order to properly ... yeah. I'm not going to describe it because I'd get embarrassed. But I'm pretty sure that it was during a Day in Our Life that we (Tori-chan and I -> Senpai is normal-er) screamed like someone had broken into the house to murder us. But Sho...what with the hot and the humping. I don't know. Probably wouldn't have nearly screamed so loud if I hadn't been in company. (Which sounds really sad.) Himitsu was adorably bratty. Actually Neen danced completely like a girl. And I clapped and wished for more. If it had been MatsuJun, I would have totally pointed and laughed. But please take note that Jun's smirk is so not sexy, usually dorky and sometimes creepy. Even when Nino is so creepy he's terrifying, I still come back for more. It doesn't make sense. But I'm a fangirl. I only care about "cents" that can be exchanged into yen for me to throw at them. /tangent
Rain deserves its own paragraph. Maybe its own post, but I should be working out right now, so I can't justify that. OHMYGAH. I have always, always loved Ohno's solo songs. And yes, he's a great dancer. But never before have they come together in such a package. Actually, Tori said something during his performance (it might have been about his shirt but I'm not sure) and I screamed at her, "Shut up! I'm forming a crush here!" So let it be known that sometime between the hours of 9-11 pm on Monday, August 30th my love affair with Arashi came full circle. You know, I loved Ohno like an Uncle. I wouldn't have minded shooting the shit with him at a family function. Make jokes about fishing and stuff. All of that has changed. I flailed hardcore and screamed nearly as loudly as I did for Sho. So we watched it again.
La Tormenta 2004 is something that I think I've seen them do in other concerts, but Sho's voice in the beginning was amazing. If it was live and current, I would have hoped that he didn't hurt his throat. Umm, what else was flail? I love CARNIVAL NIGHT part 2, but I always wonder what happened to part 1. I'm sure that I'll find it somewhere...(unless they were channeling Mel Brooks, which I doubt) Namida no something-re something (gomen, I'm too lazy to go look it up and I don't recognize the kanji but it's from Kiiroi Namida and Aiba's solo in this con) was actually something I had seen before. But at the time, I thought it was from a T&T con because there was random Tackey and random Tsuba there. But no. I also want to know why Aiba had on that scratchy-looking scarf and why he was wearing sunglasses on his hat. Odd. And we went "aww." Blue made us sleepy, but it was a really pretty. Then, there was Anti-Anti. My first reaction was, literally, "Oh, honey." Because though Sho is my ichiban I am not a fan of the ghetto-fab. It's a personal thing and it has a lot to do with my hometown. I should be over it now, considering he whips out the sideways baseball cap nearly every con, but I don't think I ever will be. But after I recovered from the deep disappointment, It was amazingly fantastic. And I flailed. He was soooooo hot. Can I get another OHMYGAH! But then they followed that up with MatsuJun's Tell me what you wanna be? <- what is up with the "?"? It doesn't make sense. That was freakin' hilarious! Gawd, you're a nerd, Jun.
I had also seen RIGHT BACK TO YOU. Which I had completely forgotten about until the folding fans reminded me of the coming lightsabers. (Currently curbing the pervy fangirl comments.) I think I remember thinking that this sequence was stupid in its first viewing. But I've grown accustomed to the Johnnys-ness, frilly costumes and all. Plus, I flailed over the fact that they were color-coded. Nerd = me.
The rest of the concert was pretty win as well, but not nearly as much as the beginning. I'm sure there were gaspy parts but my memory is starting to fuzz. I just know that I made lots of embarrassing and involuntary noises. And there was hand-flapping. And several self-bites, though no smacking. It's amazing that my ovaries survived.
Oh, in the encores, I loved that they kept flopping over because they were tired. It was kinda nice to actually see them that way after watching many uber-genki encores I've seen. Must also mention Aiba's near slip and slide across the moving stage and the fact that he - I think - missed a cue in Fight Song.
Score: A+++ in case you couldn't guess...
