3 months... not as bad as I thought

Anyway... since Im here and feeling like putting in an update...

The roadworks on the A46 is the most annoying thing in the world ever...
Ive never come across roadworks operating a convoy system before and I think the idea is probably a good one IF you let both sides have equal time to send cars through....
On the way back into Bath, what was actually happening was that about 10 cars were getting through each time... as opposed to the other direction which seemed to let aprox 6/7 lorries and 15-20 cars through each time...
This struck me as somewhat unfair... and led to me being stuck in the queue for just under an hr (aprox 57 minutes I think)

In other news, I recently (earlier today) got the chance to try out my mums new car, and then to compare the experience to driving my dads.

I wont go into great detail, but I will say a few things.

Dads car (Mazda RX-8): Very exciting to drive (due largely to the weirdo engine I believe....something to do with it c. A lot more space. Feels very comfortable.
Mums car (Mazda MX-5): Loved that it is a hardtop convertible. Beautiful handling. Feels very quick/nippy.

If I had to sum up each car in 1 word, for the RX-8 it would be "Powerful" and for the MX-5 it would be "Light" (which having just checked the mazda website, is apparently how they would sum them up too xD )

Final Verdict: If I had to pick one, it would have to be the RX-8. Although the MX-5 has a lot of good points, there is nothing there that excites me when driving it to be honest (and Im also not a hairdresser >_> ).
The only possible danger with the RX-8 would be if you ever got bored of the powerful feeling from that engine. If that ever faded (which Im not saying it would necessarily), then I suspect you would be left with a big hunk of car with very few redeeming features...

cars, roadworks
