Dick Cheney: An Army of One

Feb 20, 2006 11:49

So the Vice President/Unofficial King of the United States, Dick Cheney, has taken a lot this week. From Letterman to Jon Stewart to random people across the country; everyone has been ripping on Cheney for shooting a dude. But all of this was no accident.

Bush has been taking criticism and has been the butt of countless jokes for the past 5 years or so. And so Cheney decided to take the focus off of Bush for a while. Now how can the vice president who is always out of the news (except for when he has another heart attack or cusses out a random representative) take the spot light away from Bush? Well he can shoot a man in the face.

And that is just what he did! While hunting (when he may have had a few drinks earlier, and he may have been using an expired hunting permit) for quail with an old friend (and I do mean old), Dick Cheney ended up shooting his old friend. IN THE FACE! Well, actually the shot covered an area from his face to below his armpit (because I guess bird shot shoots sort of like the Spray gun from "Contra"), but that isn't the point. He shot the man. And everyone forgot about everything else. Think about it, have you heard anything about Bush in the last week? Nope! He's been celebrating because he has gone a few days without being made fun of. And this was all planned out. Cheney tried to take some of the jokes away from Bush and it worked out. Cheney has tricked all of America, he has robbed us of a weeks-worth of hilarious Bush-related humor. And I wont stand for it.

So the next time Dick Cheney does something hilarious, don't just focus on him. Make fun of the President and the VP. It's only fair that way.
