March Break 2007: Relocated to Nikki's!

Trip's not over, but I'm ready to reminisce =D
Tuesday
Today was planned for shopping at the mall I work at for some clothes with my boss because I just can't shop by myself. But she woke up having a difficult time breathing, so I was called in (I was actually off work today) to open and work till 4. Which turned into 6pm cuz she didn't get any better (I hope she's better by now D: ) . So I walked around the mall and got a potted bamboo for myself and for Nikki's family (asian manners), which she claimed for herself. It has seven stalks, and i forget what it means, but I'm gonna look it up when i get home. 3 meant happiness, 5 meant wealth, and 7 I forgot. =(
So I got home around 8:30pm, and we set off to go to Nikki's. But her neighbourhood is pretty new, it's not really on any map, so we were pretty screwed without Nikki's help and my mom's memory. Armed with the two, my dad and I still got lost, but we did manage to find her house anyway (no thanks to me ^^;) at about 9:30 i suppose. Didn't check the clock much. We glomped each other and said hi to the family and unpacked in her violently orange room.
Wednesday
We decided to walk outside today and stretch our legs a bit. We did our hair, makeup, and all the other things which identify us as girls at a glance and headed out. The medical center her mom works at was only about 5-10 minutes away, and we stopped by for greetings and free lollipops. I got lime while Nikki got grape :9
Nikki and I doubled back home so she could grab a spring jacket since it was a little chilly out, then we set off for the plaza on the other side. The sidewalks are dirtier than the streets, so for a while we managed to walk off the sidewalk until we got to a major road with cars driving up and down on it, then we had to go on the sidewalk. But there was a fence beside the sidewalk, so I climbed aboard and walked on it to avoid the lakes on the cement, leaving Nikki to follow along (slowly) behind me. She didn't like how i walked so fast and confidently on the fence xD But she was scared of falling and dying from a three foot fall. Who could blame her? ;3
We finally ended up at the plaza, but it was starting to rain. William's Coffee Pub was nearby, so we ducked in to escape the water ruining my leather jacket and get something delicious to drink. She got a coffee (loaded with sugar) and I got a mango yogurt smoothie. The lady diagonally behind Nikki had no eyebrows but they were painted on, and we were forcefully reminded of the King of Persia in the ass-kicking movie '300'.
An ice cap was what Nikki doubled back for before we left the coffee pub for Sobey's, where I got my bananas. My favourite fruit since I've gone vegetarian <3
Back home, we drew some more. I started getting some serious progress on my funky business men in suits.
Thursday
The time when we woke up is a bit blurry, but we did have lunch and draw some more upstairs. Think this was the day I was introduced to The Venture Brothers - they're awesome XD I have no idea why, but I love Doctor Girlfriend, mannish voice and all.
Doctor Venture: "Dean, I'm gonna turn around now, and you'd better be on fire. You're standing there in flames, and the only person who can put you out, is me. Because that is the only CONCEIVABLE reason that you would wake me up like this!"
I can see why Nikki was hooked since this was the first line she heard from the show. xD
I was also introduced to John Stewert on The Daily Show, and The Cobert Report, plus other shows which flashed by on the screen. Didn't like the latter of the two much.
Afterwards, if I haven't mixed up the order (which I probably have), we made the cake! I brought the mix, and we got down and dirty with it. We did make a mess of it, and the cake took soooo looooooong baking - the first time Nikki took it out to see if it was finished, the top of te cake was wobbling around on the still-unbaked insides. It took two more tries to get it to bake all the way through. Then we spread whipped cream on the top, added sprinkles, then some hot chocolate powder, and a chocolate to top it off. Mmmmm :9 It was good. I think her parents had some too. Nikki and I took pictures <3
Yeah, I think we made the cake first, then the tv shows. Oh well.
Friday
We drew yet some more, and while I was drawing more suits in funky poses, I remembered a band my friend Amanda was crazy about - Flogging Molly. I hadn't actually listened to them before, so i decided to look them up on youtube. They've got a style all their own, and not only are they a rock band, have a violin, sing in irish brogue, but they sing about PIRATES! Pure rapage, no lie <3 Now I'm envious of Amanda and Sasha for going to their concert (even though Amanda was stalked by a creepy old man in a trenchcoat). We ended up listening to them over and over.
Dinner, then headed down to watch the telly - Bridget Jones' Diary The Edge of Reason. I had to, it had Colin Firth in it. He was great in Pride and Prejudice (the A&E version). Then we actually got to watch a Venture Bros. episode where the Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend were getting married, but it was a 'To Be Continued...' episode, so i don't know if they really did get married since Phantom Limb crashed the wedding right when Girlfriend was about to say "I do". Goddamnit.
We headed back upstairs around 4am, and it progressed to...:
Saturday
...when Nikki helped me get a cool LJ and where I'm still parking my ass and updating right now while she enjoys sleep. I'll probably be going home today, and I'll miss being here =( But, no time to be mildly sad now. I need sleep. It's now 9:20am. I'm running on no sleep, no caffeine, and no penis (SA joke). Yey.
