kidnapping
Sometimes being kidnapped can be a lot of fun. Mike and Amy, church friends, kidnapped my Mom and I today. They took us to a new (at least to me) restaurant with several other neighbors. It was a very good seafood restaurant and the company was wonderful. Of course, Dad wondered where Mom was when he got up from his nap!! The old saying of "you snooze you lose" certainly applied to him.
We were celebrating VBS being over. We had a mission team of teens from Virginia. This was their 2nd year to come and run the VBS. We had to feed them lunch and dinner and provide food for breakfast. We all had done a fair job of cooking. We took them to Silver Springs and Wild Waters on Tuesday afternoon as a thank you for all their work. I was a chaperone and I swear that I must have sweat a gallon. They got to hold a small gator and a snake - they were just so excited.
Having witnessed all the kids at VBS and as they worked on community projects in the afternoon heat with no loss of energy; I have come to believe that we are putting way too many hormones and weird things in the food supply or water in this area. No one should have that much energy in 100 degree heat!! Nonetheless, they were a pure delight. Makes you believe in the future of our country a little more.
