Allons-y Alonso!

I have been informed by many of my friends, and for many different reasons, that it would be worth my while to read Twilight, the first of Stephenie Meyer's books, which is precisely what I have spent the past few hours doing while I wait for vea to return from the evil employers who made her work this weekend. And oh, I'm so glad I did! So very, ( Read more... )

ramblings, hilarity

I knew you would find Twilight so, so amusing. It's just too easy to make fun of. And it only gets worse, especially because Stephenie Meyer is fond of drawing comparisons between her characters and characters in classics like Romeo and Juliet and Wuthering Heights. I will admit that I kind of love Edward. He does sparkle in the sun and all. (But seriously, wtf.)

Sorry about your ankle! I'm sure your Doctor Who fangirl vibes can counteract the Twilight ones, because Doctor Who is awesome.

It really is one of the most amusing things I've ever read. I considered buying the sequel in the airport tomorrow, but I don't think I could manage another. I'll find a different book to buy. I get my own wheelchair at the airport tomorrow!

Edward... bores me. I was worried while I read that I was going to get sucked in like so many before me, but it never happened.

As Doctor Who is significantly more awesome than Twilight, I'm sure his fangirl vibes are much stronger, so that's probably why I didn't break the whole leg. Huzzah!

Whee, wheelchair! But DO NOT BUY NEW MOON. (I'm going to spoil you, I know you must be so sad.) Edward leaves Bella *for her own safety* and she basically spirals into depression and starts riding motorcycles and doing other dangerous things so she can hear Edward's voice in her head. And then stuff happens in the last 50 pages. The end.

Gary Stu, for sure. But not as bad in fanfiction, which isn't surprising considering SMeyer sucks at writing.

Woot!

I read the synopsis on Wiki, actually, of both of them. Bella is a complete idiot. Doesn't she jump off a cliff, or something? I don't like Edward, but damn, even he's too good for her.

Whee indeed! I am no good at hopping. I keep falling over. It would be hilarious if it didn't hurt so much.

Yeah, she does. And then Edward decides to commit suicide because he can't live without her. *exasperated sigh* Honestly. The two of them deserve each other if only because they're both epically stupid.

Oh no, that's not fun. Hopping is hard for extended periods of time.
