[Heavy breathing and grunting. A man starts to speak and is drowned out by static briefly, before the voice is heard again.]

...plan. I brought some smoke bombs with me, and my--[there's a moment of hesitation]--some others were going to use them to try and help flush the raptors out of the bunker.

We're probably not enough by---GODDAMMIT---[sounds of someone lunging around]---ourselves, though. Reinforcements would be more than helpful.

[quiet cursing is heard before he speaks, sounding a lot more worried now.] How many people were with you? Are you guys stuck in there?

All right, ah'll try t'see what ah can do about gettin' that help. Try t'hold out, though ah'm guessin' y'don't exactly need t'be told that right now from the sounds of it.

[Brushing it off.] I'm fine. A few scratches, nothing serious. Two people came with me, and they're both fine. It's the people inside I'm worried about more than anything. There are kids in there.

[Gruffly.] Not that I care, or anything.

[Cut off by a gasp and a hissing noise, the sound of clanging metal and feet scuffing on dirt.]

[There's several seconds of silence, then exaggeratedly cheerfully:] Sorry about that~! Had to take care of something!

[When he gets there, Kira is going to be fighting two raptors who are obviously toying with him, taking turns biting at him, each one moving in closer as he lunges at the other. Then one is going to slash at him with its claw, and he's going to go DOWN.

But still keep trying to fight it off with his sword.]

[Rocketbilly quickly lunges in between Kira and the dinos before they can take advantage of his prone position, swinging his guitar about his body to hit and startle both of them into backing off, if only for a few seconds.]

Get goin'! You're too hurt t'stay here!

[Very slight surprise when someone gets between him and the raptors. He's bleeding, but manages to pull himself into a standing position anyway.]

What did you do that for? [Shakes head.] Guess you're the reinforcements, huh?

...Leave? I can't just leave! I was just warming up.

For now, guess ah am. [he flashes Kira a very slight grin, keeping his eyes on the raptors though.]

You're hurt! If y'don't get those wounds looked at soon it could end up all kinds of bad.

I see... [The 'thank you' is unspoken, but it's there.]

It's not like I've ever had to fight someone while I was bleeding before. The worst that can happen is I die. [And maybe, go back? He doesn't want to go back to his sword body, though he denies it even to himself, but it would at least take him home and make him able to protect Setsuna. On the other hand, dying and not returning would make it completely impossible to protect anyone.

Kira eyes the raptors too, not about to let them out of his sight.]

Who's going to make sure they stay busy and away from the door?

[he only nods to that -- he knows how to read between the lines by now.]

An' dyin' isn't a bad prospect t'you? [he pauses at that last point before sighing.] All right... ah guess you have a point. Then ah'll take over as th' distraction for you.

Not like I haven't died before. What's one final time? No big deal. [Still hesitates. Reluctant to leave, but realizing he can hardly stand on his slashed-up leg.] You sure you wanna do that?

[he's kind of surprised at that, though he doesn't say it -- another deadman? no, probably not. either way he shrugs it off in order to reply to the second question.]

Ah wouldn't offer if ah wasn't sure, would ah? [he grins confidently to back it up.] Ah can handle 'em. Go on an' get inside!

[Huffing and breathing heavily, now.] The hotel. Right. Fine. [Still doesn't want to leave, but he's beginning to realize he'll only be a burden now if he stays.]
