I rolled my eyes when she automatically took a step back and headed for the kitchen before calling me to come in. Great, no chance of her forgiving me for staking Angel. Not that I ever planned on forgiving myself, so it seemed fair
( ... )
I took another step back as she started flingin' dirt. Looked like B was bein' all kinds of unfair to me today, just like every other day. I'd never fucked Spike, but she probably thought I did. I mean, some other Faith probably did, but I didn't. Damn, everything was always so confusing.
When she apologized, I sighed and sank down onto the couch next to her. Both of us sitting side by side a couple minutes of awkward silence fell over the two of us. So much stuff left unsaid and still we both got eachother in a way that no one else would ever understand us.
"It's okay." I finally said after another minute or so. "Guess everyone's wound kinda tight lately." But especially you, yep, especially.
"No, thanks." I said quickly turning down her offer of orange juice. Almost chuckled, rememberin' the last time I was at her apartment for drinks. The night we'd drank that whole bottle of JD before I skipped out of town. That had been a fun night. Least we didn't always wanna kill eachother.
"Just came by cause Cordy's got her panties in a twist over some vision she had of you." Might as well get straight to the point. This wasn't a social call, I didn't come over to get more abuse from Buffy. Had a point to all this, somewhere. "She said....she said that she saw you, and you died. Spike slashed your throat. That's what she said."
I really wished it had been anyone but Spike. Because clearly? He was just another vampire to get in the way of B and I ever not hating eachother completely. It used to be Angel who stood in the way, now it was Spike. Not really fair considering it hadn't even been me that was with him.
"She's at home. She's been buggin' me lately so I left her there, but if you wanna call her at the Hyperion to double-check be my guest." I said with a shrug. Me, Cor and Buffy in a room together? That was the worst idea ever. Well, come to think of it, maybe the two of them would be so busy tryin' to scratch eachother's eyes out they wouldn't even notice that I was there too. Those were the kinda odds that could work for a girl
( ... )
By everywhere I mostly mean my motel room and all the bars I manage to stumble across. Which leads me to being here. Slayer's place. Wonder how the frell she got this place anyone, considerin the rest of her friends are poor as church mice.
"Knock knock stinky. Slayer. Meant slayer. Make that slayers."
Gave Faith a look before stompin past the both of em and into the kitchen. "Came by for my blood. Be gone in a lick."
Pressing my lips into a thin line I watched as Spike sauntered in and called B...stinky? Yo, I didn't even wanna know what that was all about. None of my business. But the vision? That was my business, apparently. Least Cor was makin' it my business.
Raising an eyebrow at B as she stood up I thought about it. Just how long had it been since Buffy and I did anything even close to going on patrol together? These days I slayed alone, and it'd been that way for awhile. Couldn't even remember what synchronized slaying felt like.
Don't get me wrong. I knew exactly why B was suddenly all slay happy. Spike was here, and she didn't want him to know. Just like B, keepin' all the secrets. Course, maybe it was better that he didn't know. Still...if he was plannin to kill Buffy? Better him finding out that we knew about it with two slayers in the room, instead of just one.
"Yeah. I'm up for it." I said nodding at her as I stood up. My hand went to my pocket just to make sure I still had a stake there.
Could overhear the two of em goin on about some slay date they were making. How cute. Snorted, as I rooted through the crap in the fridge. Who keeps twinkies in the soddin icebox?
Your slayer, ladies and gents, that's who.
"Yeah, give those nasties the what for. Sock it to em and whatnot." Blah blah, slayer power, go team go. Fine, don't even ask me along, not like I care or anything.
"Ah hah!" Figures she'd shove it all the way to the back. Took a few swallows since the two of em were still pussyfootin around in the den. Nothing like the salty taste of thick pigs blood to get a bloke woken up good an proper like. Headed back their way, blood all tucked away for a trip. "You got eyes in the fridge you know."
I was surprised, but it almost seemed like Buffy...believed me. Maybe it was just cause she didn't believe in this Spike? That made me feel kinda sad for him, but when it came to B I never even tried to figure out what the deal was with her love life. Mostly I'd just wanted to be the object of her affection when she was with Angel. After that? Mostly I just tried to stay out of it. But just like that...we were leavin'?
Maybe that was for the best. That way we could figure out a gameplan. She could figure out a gameplan for dealing with Spike. Obviously, contrary to popular oppinion I didn't want anything bad to happen to my sister slayer. But I could see this whole situation backfiring on me and quickly.
"Umm...okay." I stood up quickly and followed B to the door. Turning around I gave Spike a long look "See ya." I said as I reached the door.
Waved as they turned and headed off, givin em the bird once they were out the door. "Go on. Do your little slayer bonding bull. See if it matters once I'm through."
Snatched a bottle of tequila off the counter as I headed for the living room. Flopped down in an easy chair and grabbed the phone off the table at my side. Knew exactly what the slayer needed. Show her who I bloody well was.

"That's why I asked where Spike was."
