18th century men's waistcoat

Feb 05, 2010 23:38

About two and half weeks ago I started with the 18th century waistcoat. I am using a fabric from my stash. It's a sturdy cotton with a woven-in rose pattern. I haven't bought a nice fabric for the waistcoat yet and thought this would be perfect to try-out this pattern (I'm also going to use it to try the frockcoat pattern). The pattern I am using is from J.P. Ryan and I am making the short sleeveless version.

I'm using the rose cotton for the front and a black satin for the back.

The waistcoat is almost finished. Front and back are attached and the lining is sewn in. All I need to do is attach the pocketflaps (I am making fake pockets because they won't be used), make all the buttonholes and sew on the buttons.
