NaNo is going pretty well so far. I'm a smidge behind (3062 words), but not too far, so I should be able to catch up. It'll be my first time doing NaNo while I working full-time since 2007, so it should be interesting. But the nice thing is that my school gives Veteran's Day off and two days for Thanksgiving, so those holidays should help.

I'd been about a week behind on NaNo, what with a conference, and then recovering from the conference, and then being sick/depressed. But after an epic past two days while dosed up on Dayquil, I have managed to pull myself from just over 14,000 to just over 25,000. Yay! NaNo is off to a slower start than I hoped, but that's all right. I'll probably be working on it intermittently today, in between working on other things I'm supposed to be doing. In the meantime, you can read an excerpt of this year's novel, currently titled I Guess this Needs a Title, here.

Off to go pretend to work on productive things....

There is no reason for that title except that I'm writing about NaNoWriMo, I like puns, and I'm too tired to stop myself from making puns. Or smashed-together words. Portmanteau words. Punmanteau? Whatever.

Doing better since my last post. New goal for NaNo is to get to 25,000 words. That's still a lot of words, and it's more manageable all around. And I can say I at least got to the halfway point in spite of everything. I can live with that. I looked at my novel for the first time in several days today. I've just gotten started on season one of The Big Bang Theory, which is awesome so far! I noticed the "vanity cards" at the end of the episodes, which are basically just comments from the show runner (in this case, Chuck Lorre).
