Hi Ho the Glamorous Life

this week has been pretty stellar, as far as my job goes. every school i have been to so far has loved me and i have been seeing the power of positive thinking AT WORK! stuff that i thought was going to be crappy actually turned out swell!

example: my second school had a strange schedule that i caught three weeks early, so i called and tried to make it right. kinda worked. when i showed up for the set up the night before, we didn't really have the help we needed, a couple custodians, who couldn't have been nicer, and there was jump rope practice in the space. that's right, jump rope practice. the gym teacher who set up this program at first seemed to be irritated that i was there, but then i started setting up and she saw we could co-habitate and i had her tell me the story of this program. it's something she started with her elementary school kids, and some of them moved on to middle school, but still wanted to still participate. so she learned that at the local college there was a world championship jump roper and she got him to come take over and get these kids into local competitions. strange, but groovy. the next day i had a ball, the kids had a ball and the principal, this is his first year, was very open to suggestions.

as some of you know, i got a mom's umber at a school a few weeks ago. i was really flattered, actually, but still, poor thing. i had the vibe of some of the single moms this week seeing me as a single man with a job who likes kids. but before i was stuck in an awkward situation, i quietly said, "oh, i forgot something" and left.

one more day to go and, knock wood, it'll go just as swimmingly.

long drive home tomorrow, and then about an hour of work at the science factory and groccery shopping and then death, or drunken oblivion, depending on the time.

oh! and i got the harvey birdman game for the wii! most exciting!

i realize that this is just incoherant blabber, but i'm trying to get out my thoughts so i can sleep. i can't be a driving zombie tomorrow!
