Thank you. Read your comment with pleasure and then rushed off to try your suggestions before replying.

I hadn't checked the family inventory. To be honest, I'd forgotten all about it. Unfortunately, the urn wasn't in there (something else was though but I won't tell you about that yet). Thank you so much for that link, you've solved the problem. The urn was found in the mausoleum in the graveyard.

That was my first death sequence. Not sure how happy I was when he started pleading for his life. I did think he might have lived longer, after all he was made an elder prematurely through my error. I was pleased with EAxis there, that Sims colours change when viewed through a ghost. (Did that make sense?)

I also don't really understand the aging. Why Clifford is an elder when James is not. Rico, yes, I made the inn in another neighbourhood and was pratting about with him there, before extracting him and the inn to plonk into this one. I expected him to be older. I can only assume that whatever Clifford was doing to make him disapear from the game, prematurely aged him. Clifford was just not around. I checked all through the map for him. I think that 'story progression' probably has some major quirks.

Thanks again for your comment and for your help :D

Yay! I'm glad you found it!

I understand what you mean about the colors. Looking through a ghost is seeing into a black-and-white world, like an old TV show. They must see the whole world like that, all muted.

The aging quirks must be hard on people who like being in control. (Or is there a way to turn it off? I have a vague memory of that, but I could be making it up. Coffee, I need coffee.)

I believe that I can turn the story progression off. I haven't tried it though. I seem to recall, at one stage (six months ago probably), that there were a lot of posts about it being 'borked' and that installing Awesome Mod fixed it. Might go and see what I can read up about it now...

Coffee sounds good :)
