Pillage 1.4 - a Pixel Trade Viking Death Squad Challenge

May 28, 2010 11:18

Previously in the Pillage household:

Rae-Pan Pillage (created by SimmyTizzy and voted as most likely sim to make a good founder by members of Pixel Trade) after a couple of challenging weeks, had finally settled into her ‘home for life’ with her baby daughter, Zephyr (fathered by BondChick-Nett's Gizor Wyrmtongue) only to have it totally demolished by a hurricane.  Fortunately her insurance covered the cost of a rebuild and, even more fortuitously, when building the foundations, her Magical Mr Gnome was found under the sand.  We rejoin the family in their new home just in time for Zephyr’s birthday.

A rather tipsy James Faustus (Perchalicious) nearly wrecks the beginning of the party by hitting on Rae.

Rae suggests that he sticks to soft drinks from now on whilst Gizor gloats that James is likely to be hung over in the morning.

Good advice but perhaps a little too late as, a moment later, James has passed out.

Rae is relieved and hopes that he will awake in a more appropriate mood. Colin Poole (SixamSims) is more concerned

and when James comes round, recommends a hair of the llama to help him feel better.

These disturbances mean that Zephyr ages up quietly, by herself, in her bedroom. These disturbances mean no cake for anyone.

It’s a solemn little girl that gets to put to bed.

She doesn’t really look much like a goblin now, with amazing eyes, like fresh wee in a white porcelain toilet bowl.

Proving that she is indeed her mother’s daughter, Zephyr develops an early taste for cheese

but soon discovers that not everything yellow and wedge-shaped is in fact that squidgy, odorous, fatty substance.

As for her mother, well Rae has sort of given up on Gizor.  She doesn’t want to ask him to move in. She wants to consider her options.

She’s been getting along much better with James these days.

And has also developed a flirtatious relationship with Colin.

In fact, she now has a romantic interest in three men.

So, just whose slippers are under her bed?

Which strong man is she dreaming of?

Who to woohoo?

I suppose you could say that James had first refusal.

James likes his candy sweeter.

James likes his candy from little girls.  For shame James, for shame.

Another birthday, another party.

This one will have cake.

But no real attention for the birthday girl as all the guests ignore her totally.

Oh except for this guy, who seems to resent being pulled away from the telly.

Plus, his response to how she looks is not complimentary.

This is Rico Kitz. Do you remember him? He ran the Inn where Rae met all the eligible batchelors in the neighbourhood. When Rae last visited the Inn there was no sign of him or of Clifford Punnet (the possible spouse created by BrilliantCat). I had checked the neighbourhood and there was no sign of the pair of them. Rico was not invited to the party, he just turned up. I was pleased to see him but quite surprised that he was an elder already. I wonder if he had an accident with a birthday cake too?

Zypher is, understandably, not too happy.

Rae is beginning to wonder if birthday cakes are unlucky and lead to bad birthdays.

Whilst Zephyr gets some attention from her father

Rae works hard on her novel. There is hardly any money in the household. The dresser had to be sold to pay the bills and there is yet to be enough money to add a ceiling to the house.

“So, how would you feel about your mum getting married?”

A surprise question from Colin causes Zephyr to choke on her salad.

Colin has been a frequent visitor of late.

From Rae’s point of view, he is a most welcome visitor.

Yep, the new bed has finally got some love-in action.  Rae is no longer starving for ‘love’.

Though Colin is starving for other things.

“Thank goodness the week is nearly up and we can finally get some meat back into our diet.”

The latest challenge

Fish are Friends, not Food: your sims have all become vegetarians! They may all only eat vegetarian meals (milk is allowed) for the week.

obviously was a difficult one for our carnivorous Colin.

Food seems to be an issue with Rae too.

I so deeply apologise for this picture but what legacy story is complete without a sim vomiting into a toilet? I believe I’m meant to ask you the question too: Is this food poisoning or is it a baby? I bet the suspense is killing you.

Designed to make you feel just that little bit nauseas, we move back to food. Spot that meat there? The week is up and there is a new challenge ahead.

Best in Show: Spend ALL of your households funds on landscaping/gardening with the aim to have the greatest garden in Sim history. Any money you bring in during the week must ALSO be used for this aim - though you can pay bills and buy food. We're gardeners, not nazis!

Drats, we’re still not going to have any spare cash. I’ve paid the bills, all the rest, bar &30 will be spent outside. The &30 will be for a birthday cake for Zephyr. Yes, we’re going to try again, surely not all birthdays can go wrong?

Oh and yes, you’ve guessed, Rae is not fat. There is a baby on the way.

“EEeeeeOW, baby coming!”

“Hah, fooled you, baby not coming.”

“Just a nasty case of heart burn.”

“See, no baby.”

Okay, there is a baby. Colin’s baby. A little girl.

Unfortunately, though I watched her, the dog did nothing interesting that I could name the baby after. As I recall, after I poked her with a foot (class I has it), she wagged her tail, sniffed the cat’s bottom and went back to sleep. I admit that ‘Cats-Bottom Pillage’ has an interesting ring to it but, well, in the end I decided to stick to Rae’s first love and named her after cheese.

So, please to meet Brie Pillage.  (Grammar I has not it.)

Not long after Brie was born, there was a message about Gizor not being long for this world and that his loved ones might want to spend a little time with him.  Rae invited him over.  (Aw, no pink fluffy bunny slippers now that he is a wrinkly.)

As they share some pie together, Rae laments that he never bought her an engagement ring. He doesn’t bother to reply. Charitably both Rae and I decide that this is because he has gotten deaf in his old age.  Still him coming over does make his daughter happy.

Look she’s almost smiling.

The smile must also have something to do with the fact that it is her birthday, that she has got to the cake and that the guests at her party are actually celebrating her birthday.

Celebrating and watching her transform. This is it, the most successful transition day ever. We’ve finally broken the ‘bad birthday’ pattern. Yay.

Hey look who’s turned up. Uninvited but very welcome.  It’s Clifford! I’m not sure where he’s been hiding and I’m a little surprised he’s an elder but I’m loving his legs and how spindly they look in contrast to the big boots.

Rico is enjoying how he looks too.

Eeww, Rico also seems to be enjoying how Zephyr looks on this birthday.

“Is he still looking at my bum?”

Umm, I’m afraid so.

Me thinks that Zephyr is not best pleased with me. After all, I’ve allowed Rae to invite the lollypop stealer that blighted her toddlerhood.

Come on, having him in the house doesn’t make it a bad birthday, does it?

Oh…

*sad smiley face of the world unite, your purpose has just manifested itself* :(

This will make it a bad birthday.

Sorry Zephyr, I know you’d just gone to bed but…

… it’s about your dad.

Some thing has come for him.

Small consolation to try to be happy that Gizor was there for Zephyr’s transition to a teenager.

Not meaning to distract you from your grief at Gizor’s passing but do you see that box there?

Good, I see it too.

Gizor cannot outrun his fate.

Though he pleads

Death is resolute.

What no dancing girls? Boo. I feel really sad.

Poor Zephyr.

Please respect her grief and ignore that thumb she has just stuck up her nose. Thank you.

Rae is heartbroken.

It is unbearably sad.

I’m interrupting the shared grieving again - remember that box? Well, where has it gone?

I’m guessing that it contained Gizor’s ashes. However, it has totally vanished. I’ve checked Rae, Zephyr and even Brie’s personal inventories and it is not in there. It’s a puzzle.  I have just realised that I have not checked in the foundations, I’ll have to do that next time I play.

Interruption over. Thank you for your patience.

Rae comforts her grieving daughter.

In fact, they comfort each other.

James comes over and surprises me by showing a caring side to his nature.

He’s really upset about Gizor’s death.

Seriously, I do believe that he was upset and not just taking advantage of Rae in her grief.

Remembering the good things about life can sometimes help the grieving process.

See, not taking advantage, he is genuinely mourning.

There is another surprise too. The option has come up to ask a sim to move in. Rae can ask James to move in. The option never came up for Gizor. I didn’t notice it come up with Colin, for all his talk about marriage. I’m not sure what to do… James is scary at times… still James has showed this softer, kinder side and I think it would be really good for Rae to finally have a life partner. Plus, on the practical side, it would really help out with the money shortage. Hmm, maybe after the funeral…

The funeral is planned for the following day. A day that is also Brie’s birthday.

I persuade Rae to complete another chapter of her book so that we have enough money to buy a cake so that Brie can age up before the funeral.

Pink nappy/diaper power. (Wonder why those names are different depending on where you live? - wonder what they call the baby wee absorber down under?)

Ooh look, an obituary in the paper. What’s this about ‘the family’? His daughter, Zephyr didn’t get anything. Did I miss something?

The funeral is well attended. Contrary to appearances, Rae is consoling Colin.

Oh my, check out Mr Cool. I hope Rico doesn’t think he stands a chance of impressing Zephyr.

The emotional strain is all a bit much for Rae.

So Zephyr lovingly puts her little sister to bed.

Just wanted to show you the remaining Pixel Trade boys. Colin, Clifford and James. Clifford enjoyed the funeral. (And yes, the telly’s broke.)

James is reassuring Zephyr that, even though the urn is missing, there is still a chance that she might be able to interact with her father’s ghost.

And what’s this?

James is caring for Colin and Rae’s daughter.

Aww, a kiss. Well, he is really going up in my estimation. Perhaps Rae should ask him to move in.

Hang on a minute. Why are you rubbing your hands?

Oh James!

Poor baby.
