Apparently a parent has complained about the teaching of Huck Finn in high school, so the school district has banned the book from class. This is an honors English class, by the way. May I just say, what the fuck? This is a classic novel that should be required reading for all students, especially in an honors class. I hate god-damned censorship, ( Read more... )

For the record, I am against all forms of banning, whether it be books, movies, music, or some other form of artistic expression. Freedom of speech, it's what makes this country great.

Via PJ Media, you can visit the World eBook Fair from July 4-August 4 and download any of the 330,000 free eBooks that they have made available. I am not generally a big fan of eBooks, preferring the old fashioned paper versions. But this fair is one that I definitely won't miss.
