It's Halloween, everyone's entitled to one good scare.

30 days down now, and I'm still doing this. I couldn't wait until tomorrow, I wanted Halloween to be tonight. And I went with the original John Carpenter classic, not the Rob Zombie re-make. While the re-make is a fine job on its own, it just can't compare to the original.

On Halloween night in 1963, 6 year-old Michael Myers brutally murdered his 17-year old sister. 15 years later, Michael has escaped from the institution that has kept the world safe from him. Nobody knows where he's going except for his psychiatrist, Dr. Loomis. Michael is going home. Home to Haddonfield. Now a lot of people are going to die unless the police start listening to Dr. Loomis, and they stop Michael. But since this is a horror movie, do the police ever listen to the only person who knows what's going on until it's too late?

Unlike most older slasther films, this one still holds up. It's still scary, and still suspenseful. I was going to save this for my penultimate movie, but I've been enticed by a sweet transvestite who wants to do the time warp again...
