1. Brian's employee in New York betrays Kinnetik - 2. Kip in a wheelchair

1. There are a LOT of stories of Brian opening Kinnetik in NY. The one I'm remembering - and it's only vaugue memories - is where one of the ad execs that Brian has hired somehow betrays Brian and/or Kinnetik. The only scene I recall right now is of an open floor plan office space and Brian finding out. If I recall correctly, the employee wasn't ( Read more... )

Call me crazy, but your first request brought out this memory in my mind - Brian and Vance were losing accounts; Cynthia's cousin was making a data-protection project and found the traitor. Is this what you're looking for?
I'm not sure, but it could be London's series.

Sorry I can't be more helpful, I'm in the middle of a debate about "Bohemian rhapsody" (the film) and am frustrated of the homophobic vibe I get from this so called "biopic" :(

Hi, Ara. When you say, 'London's Series', are you talking about the author 'London'? I have quite a few of her stories in PDF files, but unfortunately, none of them have a summary on them. If it is her work, do you have any idea the name of the story? And you said, 'Series'. I presume there's a sequel? Any info would be wonderful.

Hi, Cathy!

Yes, I meant the author London.
Here's London's site:

The story with Cynthia's nephew is in "Dancing in the fire"

Edit: Oh, it is series, begins with "Waiting out the cold" and going down.

It's hard to say with London's stories :)
On one hand it's supposed to be:

1. WAITING OUT THE COLD
2. DANCING IN THE FIRE
and than another series:
1. MAGNUM LOAD
2. PLAYING WITH KNIVES
3. EASING DOWN HARD

but on the other hand we have Scott Turner in all 5 of them.
I personally prefer to read them in this order (from top to bottom), because even if it appears to be 2 different series trust me, you don't want to read what happened to Scott in "Easing down hard" and then start "Waiting out the cold".

I'm not sure what I just wrote make sense, but that's why I'm not a writer :lol

Sounds very much like the one I'm remembering. I'll check out London's works and see. Lord, this is such a prolific community, trying to keep the stories straight (pardon the pun) is dang hard work! Thanks for the lead on this one.

And I haven't seen the biopic, but I've heard the same from a few people.

"Dancing in the fire" by London

Enjoy :)

Edit: On a second thought, this is not in NY, so maybe there is other fiction with similar plot?

It was Cynthia's nephew, who btw was also working on a project with Justin. After the guy finished his project, he gave a laptop to Justin as payment. I think re-read this recently, I will check my old fic files.

Oh! If this is the story I'm remembering, it may have been London, because I remember that Brian woke up with a blonde in his bed, it was a woman, a lady friend of Brian's great macho friend, Scott, who was spying for a competing agency. or else I'm combining two stories.

Check out DANCING IN THE FIRE by London. It's on my hard drive so I can't do a link.

I think I actually have that on my hard drive, too. I'll double check. If not, I think it's in the links on the side here. Thanks.

I have it in a PDF file if anyone should want it. I glanced through the story, it appears all this subterfuge was happening at Vanguard, not Kinnetik, and Vance tells Brian he's not happy and he owns controlling interest. There is a nephew of Cynthia's in this. But it sounds like there's a woman who brings these files to Vance's attention, but Brian tells Cynthia that they are not his. It also sounds like everybody's relationships are on the rocks.

Don't know if this is the story you are looking for. But, if you need it or want it, let me know.

This is the right fic, but it looks like I was remembering the location and timeline a bit wrong. So many fic! So few memory cells left! LOL. Thanks.
