so, the updates have been lacking.
school ended, went home for a week. and boy was it nice! sleeping in, laying out, reading, shopping, the usual stuff. drinks with everyone, dancing on Paper Moon's stage with travis and brendan, pigging out with rachael and brendan, margaritas with travis (well...in the plural for travis, in the singular for myself!), good family time (it was nice to see my dad, usually he's traveling, his schedule is crazy! he had just gotten back from germany, and brought me a Kinder Egg Fussball kit!), caught a glimpse of my brother's hot date, ordered an iPod (i'm getting up early on monday to wait for the FedEx guy!), saw a girl's vagina in a fitting room, and flung ginger ale on a cell phone kiosk.
this tuesday was the first day of classes. i'm taking two.
1) Family Owned Business. thought it would be horribly statistical and boring, but i was wrong. my teacher is fun, the class is easy, but interesting, and it seems like it will be very insightful and useful. half the time we'll be listening to guest speakers, entrepeneurs and local small business owners.
2) German Phonetics. There's only 8 of us. Herr Adolf is the teacher, and he's pretty cool. very nice, enthusiastic, funny, and he's a real live Deutscher! he reeks of cigarettes and is never without coffee.
Half of our class times we meet in a listening lab, where it's 60 degrees, and sounds like an airplane hanger. We sit in front of divided computers, wear really big headphones with a microphone, looking like helicopter pilots or air traffic controllers. we listen to recordings of german pronunciation and then repeat it out loud. while messaging each other on myspace. ha. the class is actually kind of interesting, i like learning how to sound more authentic.
so...classes are good, but i'm tired of them already. i just don't want to be in school anymore, i've had enough for a while. i don't feel like putting forth effort.
i'm feeling stir crazy. i need to go out!
