[Salyssa] is a weirdo

Emotional/mental torture is often much more effective than merely inflicting physical pain. I wish I had coordinated properly with the Doctor; if I had known that he was close to getting the information from that woman, I would not have stepped in the way I did at that point. Ah well, the information was eventually extracted, and I'm told that Damiren was rescued, along with several others.

There must have been something very strong keeping her from giving the information we wanted--something stronger than her affection for the worgen-man. I will ask around and see if I can come up with that information. If her zealotry was stronger than that affection, I can mark it down to her being essentially insane. I suspected some kind of magical binding, but she evidently did give the information freely, so it was not that. Normally, the technique I used would be more than sufficient to prompt most creatures to confess--even if I was using a comrade-in-arms, rather than a lover. (I do not know that they were lovers, but it seems a reasonable conclusion.) The effectiveness is reduced by not having the companion in the same room to torture; hearing a friend screaming in the next room will usually break someone's will quite effectively. Silvermoon's regulations can be so inconvenient.

I was very pleased to learn that Dryx is... in better circumstances. I have missed his company. I hope that he visits often; I am very intrigued to hear more of his story. And I agree that the latest information he has acquired about his background sheds much illumination on his personality. Note: Learn what kinds of foods he might prefer, and acquire them.

The Doctor has been letting his hair go white lately. Sebrawyn seems to like it that way. If his lapse in dying it means the same things it used to... I was surprised at how--present Abomination was at the Gallows. I hope it means that they are reaching a stable balance, rather than... the alternative that would not be good for anybody. Whispers of Plagos' instability have been drifting through the Apothecarium recently, as well. The last thing we need is for Curse to lose its momentum and disintegrate. If it does, I fear that the Doctor may break again. I hope that the upswing of having successfully recovered Damiren and having been evidently something of a hero yesterday holds for a while.

Still trying to work with frost magic. Still hate it.
