as do i. i know how you are feeling. my dad is the most controlling person i have ever seen. i think it's a psychological disorder or something. my dad told me the other day that he wanted to make a phone call that i could make perfectly well on my own because he thought i wouldnt say the right things. he keeps telling me that he wont do this or that for me if i dont call my boss and tell her for the 3rd time that i will be coming back to work for her in the summer. he calls me at least (and i am not exagerating) 4 times a day, usually more. going to college doesnt fix this, but it does help. however, just thought i would let you know you are not the only one. i ended up crying tonight because apparently it is my fault that delta airlines lost my bags, and i am not calling and bugging them enough. no one can ever be perfect because people's idea of perfect are different.
Hello Gerry, this is Lara Damerow from middle school. Sorry to hear you have so many burdens put on your shoulders, and all can offer is that you tell your parents how you feel. My dad often makes comments on my career choice, how it probably won't earn me enough to live a good life. Though I've told him that I need to do something I enjoy or else I won't be motivated to go to work, and besides, I'm not cut out to be an engineer or medical assistant.
I wish you good luck in the future, and hopefully you'll work out these problems out because you [from what I remember in middle school] are a hardworking student. You just need a break and I believe parents need to remember that, just remember what it was like to be a junior in high school.
Hey, Long time no speak... nice to hear from you again, and thanks. And, don't mind my rants too much, they are often long and unfounded.
Good to hear your doing alright and all, Brad told me you might be around at some point... it's just like 8th grade gym all over again... except for the smelly gym clothes.
Go where you want to go. *shrugs* you'll find money somewhere, even though you may end up paying off student loans forever.. and i hope you feel better. and that your relationship with your parents goes better... they love you a lot. even if it doesn't seem like it at all sometimes. and even if they aren't doing a good job parenting, you should still try to honor them, because we're all accountable for what we do... we're not accountable our parents being however they are.
and i hope the remainder of your spring break goes well.
