eclectic fun

Dear diary,

last night was fun. I played my first live gig in ages. And even though it seems that the time of this laptop is slowly coming to an end (I had numerous audible difficulties), people really dug what I played (playing the first jungle breaks after 3 hours of idm and dubstep is a thankful job ;).

Other artists on the line-up included Noize Creator (it is always nice to see Stefan), Vegan Cannibal (a young new record store owner from Dresden who throws Dubstep parties there and DJs that sound) plus idm live acts and more dubstep DJs. All on one floor. It was the first event for the organizers in what will now surely turn into a series. The turnout was great, the crew enthusiastic (live visuals on 3 projectors, 4 liveacts, 3 DJs... 4 euro entry...). I was granted my wish to join them again next time, then as a dubstep DJ.

Everybody was happy.

I would almost not have gotten there though, even if it was only an hour away. I lacked a driver for my original driver fell sick. Luckily it turned out Sebastian from the Suckers was in town.  So he drove me there and got to hear me play live in return :) Unfortunately his cam is broken so I will have to wait and see what pics the organizers took (did I ever mention I still have no digicam?).

The Suckers btw played New Year's in Poland. They had to return by train because their car got stolen. Thank god their gear, this ever growing collection, was not in the trunk (make it 'boot' if you like ;) anymore. Being the liberal, open person I am I like to discard many things as prejudices. But from all the stories I hear there is something to the notion that Poland still is no safe place to travel by car. So be advised, diary, if you ever intend to go there. ;)

Tonight is gonna be way more quiet, but maybe not less exciting.

my life as such, music
