Military Tree at Christmas Time...

At my boss' house we're having a Christmas walk right now. They've set up somewhere around 50 Christmas trees, all with different themes, in their 10,000 square foot log home.

Yesterday, as I was helping with the walk, making sure none of the kids [or adults for that matter] broke any ornaments, or anything else in the home, I came across a tree that I hadn't noticed when I was there for my Christmas party.

This tree inparticular is silver, and has red, white, and blue bulbs, with American Flags on every branch. It is what you think, a military tree. And under the tree, are these little tags, for you to write the names of your loved ones, who are or were in the military, who fight for all of our freedom.

So as I was working I made a mental list, of all those I know in the military, and I ended up putting 10 tags on the tree myself. What I didn't realize until after I was home, was that the majority of those people I put on the tags, are currently deployed somewhere.

But what I really wanted to say, to any of you in the military who may read this, is that I'm grateful for everything you do. Because of all of you, we have the freedom that we have. And without all of you, we wouldn't have this freedom. So Thank You. And if you know of anyone else, who should have a tag on the tree... let me know before December 27th... and I'll be sure to get them up there. All I need to know, is their name, what branch of the military they are in, their rank, and where they are, whether they're deployed in Iraq, Korea, or lucky enough to still be home.
