My immersion heater has blown; it only lasted eighteen months, and I had an awful time of it finding a plumber last time round.

It occurs to me that maybe, after all, I might try replacing it myself. It doesn't look too difficult, though once one has bought the rubber hose, the big octagonal spanner and the PTFE tape then spent all evening

Thank you. They ummed and ahhed a bit about getting to Alconbury, then realised it was convenient for the A14. Then they ummed and ahhed a bit about getting to me before the weekend.

But they're turning up sometime tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed. (-8
