Remember when AMC was the go to channel for actual classic movies, often in black and white and starring handsome dead men and women whose style and glamour will never be seen again? Remember black and white movies on any time of the day when you needed a comfortable voice in the house that isn't yours raving at nobody and nothing?
Dammit.
AMC is NOT playing classics, it plays movies filmed in my lifetime which frankly, by definition*, is not Classic.
And no, before it is suggested, TCM is just not doing it for me, they also play too damn many movies that are either in colour or filmed after my year of birth, neither of which am I in the mood for tonight.
*For certain values of definition. Also, I don't think that the American Heritage Dictionary Online should list as additional resources Wikipedia. just sayin'.
