We had the cat put down Christmas Eve. The vet was very understanding about it and the doctor even gave me a hug. I'm sad but at the same time its a huge relief knowing he won't have to suffer anymore. It was time for him to go.

My cold has gotten a lot better. I can move around now and I don't feel sluggish. I still have a bit of runny nose but those take forever to go away. In the time I was sick though I got to watch Wolf, Raise the Red Lantern, Reign of Fire, Freejack, Alien 3, and Salem's Lot. Also I sped through the book Orca and am now onto The Shannara series. I love this series. The characters are relatable; there's humor, drama, angst; the writing is sparse but orderly, giving just enough detail but not enough where I feel like I'm being choked on it; there's plenty of sideplots (<3 the sideplots); and it's just good. I love how he writes five different characters with five different stories but yet manages to keep them all related. The romance is a little too melodramatic sometimes between two of the characters but he can be forgiven for that.

And the one thing I love about Miami when I don't have a car? All the free time! Not having to worry about money or where I need to be and when I need to get there! I can watch movies all day, play on the internet, read, and I've picked up Calamity's Breach again. I spent around five hours yesterday rereading the monster. Hopefully when I get back home I'll find some time to work on it.

But I've gotten a bit of a stomach cramp the last couple days and I'm about to get my period. Oh well. Go to hell bodily functions.
