My Christmas sucks butt.

- I'm sick as a dog with a cold. I've been stuck in bed the last two days. The good thing about this is that I've been reading a great deal (which I normally don't have a lot of time to do) and watching movies. So far I've watched Wolf and Raise the Red Lantern, which is a Chinese film that basically shows four women backstabbing the hell out of each other. I'd recommend it.

- I found out I have to get my wisdom teeth taken out. Its not to the point where its critical - the dentist said I just need to get it done in the next few months. Still not the best news I wanted to hear (which would have been: "There's no wisdom teeth at all!")

- My cat is dying. Admittedly, he is very old, almost 15 years, but its still sad to see him go. He injured his leg about two years ago and because he was already well into his years at the time, the vet recommended we not do surgery due to the fact the anesthesia could kill him. I haven't seen him in the past year but my mom told me he wasn't doing well. I thought she was exaggerating but I was wrong. In a year he has lost almost all muscle mass in his hindlegs, he has poor control over his bladder, he can barely walk, and he's lost weight to the point you can feel his backbone. Before anyone jumps the gun, the reason he hasn't been put down is because he was still eating and functioning relatively well. In the past few days, he has gone further downhill than we could have imagined. He's been barely eating and the furthest I've seen him walk is about seven feet. He sleeps the entire day.

Tomorrow we plan to bring him in and have him put to sleep. I believe in quality of life before quantity and its obvious, to me especially I feel, that he's suffering.

So Merry Christmas.

Do I ever write about anything good in this journal?

teeth, cats, pets
