My stupid new job keeps screwing up my schedule. Originally I told them I would do five days but after some consideration I asked to be lowered to three due to the distance and the fact I've never driven in winter before. After some gentle prodding and reminding they finally did it so I've been scheduled to work Wednesday-Friday there. I had to call in Friday because I was up most of the night with a migraine and the new pills I bought (ran out of the old and the store was out of stock) did literally nothing to alleviate it. When I talked to the manager about not coming in I offered to work Monday to make up for it and because its the holiday season. I told him specifically I would not be able to work the weekend because I have a second job. Last night I went online to check my schedule and lo and behold he has scheduled me for Sunday and Monday for the next three weeks.

I called this morning but the manager who does my schedule was not in and the general manager, when I told him about the situation, did not sound happy and told me we'd discuss it when I go in tomorrow. I'm really getting annoyed with these people. They know I have a second job and this isn't the first time they have screwed up my schedule. I'm really afraid when I go in to talk to them that they're basically going to tell me to deal with it and try to find somebody to cover for me. This is a pain in the ass not only because there's barely anybody to cover but they won't give out other employees' phone numbers so I have to personally go out and track down these people to discuss it with them. Sunday is definitely out of the question. Monday I could do but I'm really hoping to get out of it since the next two Monday's are the days after Christmas and New Years, days I was really looking forward to having off. Also if I have to work Monday at the ski resort then I am only going to have one day a week off for the next three weeks. I did this all through summer and I'd prefer not having to do it through winter too.
In other news my bank down in Miami is incredibly dysfunctional. When I originally closed the account, they only closed it and didn't mail the check for some stupid reason. The second time I talked to them the guy managed to get the check sent and told me I would receive it this past Thursday. I checked Thursday and Friday, no money cometh. So after a third call I find out the last dude gave me bad information and that the check was MAILED Thursday and would arrive in 7-10 business days. So annoying. Why is everything so difficult to get done? I feel like everything I try to do turns into some big obstacle I have to beat my head against. Argh.
