Hi everyone! I have a couple of items to share before I dump the past few weeks of art on all of you. First, I am still open for commissions. I know that with the economy in the tubes, this is probably the last thing on most people's minds. But please think of me if something comes up, okay? ^________^
Secondly, I've opened up a redbubble account. I've really been pushing over the last month to get my work seen and this is one of those attempts. The great thing about this art site is that it has the added benefit of providing a free print service (meaning, I didn't have to pay anything up front). So I'm in the process of uploading my work. What I'd like to know is if there are any pieces I should prioritize, so shout out if there's something you want to see.
Okay, it's art dump time:
I based this painting off of Catholic prayer cards. Interpret it how you will.
Interesting fact: Abraham Lincoln shares his birthday (12 Feb 1809) with Charles Darwin. They're bicentennial is in a few days.
I love MMA.
Really, I do.
As a kitten, Dinky was found on a doorstep dying from a parasitic worm that had wrapped itself around her neck. Doctors gave her a 50% chance of recovery since she was so frail and well, "dinky." But she did survive and now, almost 3 years later, she's a happy, healthy, lovely mass of fur and adorable.
ALL Nature seems at work. Slugs leave their lair-
The bees are stirring-birds are on the wing-
And WINTER, slumbering in the open air,
Wears on his smiling face a dream of Spring!
And I, the while, the sole unbusy thing,
Nor honey make, nor pair, nor build, nor sing.
Yet well I ken the banks where amaranths blow,
Have traced the fount whence streams of nectar flow.
Bloom, O ye amaranths! bloom for whom ye may,
For me ye bloom not! Glide, rich streams, away!
With lips unbrighten'd, wreathless brow, I stroll:
And would you learn the spells that drowse my soul?
WORK WITHOUT HOPE draws nectar in a sieve,
And HOPE without an OBJECT cannot live.

Last one. I realized that I hadn't painted a still life in a long time, so I decided to remedy that.
