Okay, I have a moment where I can actually write something, so I might as well give you an update. Still don't know when I'm going to get back to reading again, but that's a different issue
( Read more... )
I've been off lj for most of a year, what happened?
Just stopped by to say I was thinking of you. I found somebody who gives almost as good of hugs as you do. My 22 mo. old niece (I can't believe she was just six weeks old when I moved here) can completely wrap a person in her tiny little arms and I was thinking this morning that she's well on her way to being as good a hugger as you are.
So what's been going on? I've been missing CO lately. I've moved into my own place with my sister and her bf. Haven't found one of those for myself and don't want to. For my 25th b-day, I bought myself a car. My first to be in my name and everything, I was so excited. That lasted two months until I totalled it in an accident that wasn't my fault. But since the other party was Phoenix PD, I was blamed and lost in court.
I've also held the same crappy job since I got here. I'm quite proud of myself for that as I generally don't do well with crappy jobs and never have time to find better ones. This one hasn't been so bad, there's the ever looming promise of advancement and I've even gotten a couple tastes of it. But there's always room for more (something like 15 levels I can move through, inluding management, and I'm on the fourth). I've just the last couple weeks gotten fed up enough that I really am putting effort into a new job search. This was supposed to last a couple years and get me through school, but I can do better. My roommate (sis' bf) works at the post office and thinks I should go there for great pay and benefits. Plus carpooling would be easier.
Anyway, there I go on and on. I notice you're not on much either. I'm guessing a busy work schedule is contributing to that. If you ever wander through myspace, check me out. www.myspace.com/bleuroze
If you're asking what happened to my elbow, I irritated it to the point of injury by leaning heavily on it for too long. Like the post says, it's fine now. Not much else is new with me. Like you, I don't spend much time here any more. I haven't read anything in months.
That thing with the car must have been pretty depressing. I'm assuming any insurance payout you might have gotten was eaten by court costs.
I'm proud of you for keeping your job, too, but if you can get a job at the post office, go for it. Government jobs have great benefits, reasonable opportunity for advancement, and a real honest to god pension.
Well, I've got to get back to work. Take care. [hugs]
Missed lj thought I'd wander through. Was in town a couple weekends ago. To find out why if you don't already know www.boomerbox.com
Yea, so moving past that point... I finally got rid of the crappy job. Or rather they got rid of me. A manager kept getting anonymous complaints via phone that went directly to him about a girl with a nametag that said "Rachel." I don't know who that was, mine says "Rae" and there were no other Rachels, but whatev. One of my loal customers thought it was because I was getting too far too fast, but nobody seemed to realize that I really didn't want management. That job loss was the best thing to ever happen to me.
I now work in the wireless industry with better pay and benefits than I knew existed. My school is paid for and if I ever have a kid, it's a single $10 to last throughout the pregnancy. And the job seemed tough @ first, but I'm too incredible to be challenged for long. And I have a new car again, which drove me to and from Colorado. Ok, I drove it, but you know what I meant.
So what's been going on w/ u? You haven't even posted birthdays on here lately.
I'm glad to hear you're doing well. I'm always happy to hear when someone's doing well.
Things with me are about the same. Which means I'm doing pretty well, I guess. I don't post here any more because the site is blocked from work. It means I don't get to read, either. I miss the people, but I don't miss the place, if you know what I mean.
Anyway, I need to get off the computer so I can get to a cooler part of the house. Take care.
