Okay, I have a moment where I can actually write something, so I might as well give you an update. Still don't know when I'm going to get back to reading again, but that's a different issue.
My elbow flared up again, so I went back to the doctor. He sent me to a specialist, I got a shot of cortisone, and I'm all better now. The elbow saga is finally over. It was olecron bursitis, and a cortisone shot usually clears it up, so I don't expect any other problems out of it. And it does, in fact, seem to be back to 100% now.
However, if it's not one thing, it's something else. My blood pressure is running a little high, so I'm supposed to keep an eye on it. I've already started making some dietary changes (less salt, for instance), but I think it's going to take real exercise of some sort to go back to what I consider normal.
Right now I'm looking at walking and biking (along with golfing, of course), but I might have to graduate to something more strenuous. I'll probably go back to the doctor and ask for advice. That's what they're for, after all.
Why did no one tell me about the Tiger Woods PGA Tour series of video games from EA? When I first started playing Outlaw Golf, I was impressed with its physics, and the actual game play itself. The gimmicks were just flavor. But when I really started playing Tiger Woods, I realized it was better. Yes, I have less control over how precise my shot is, and I don't know exactly how many clubs I have to shift for sand, rough, or slope, but that's closer to real life. And I think it improves play. People who prefer something a little easier should probably stick to the gimmick games. But you know what my favorite feature is? If you said Game Face, you're right. Any video game that lets me create a character that resembles myself (or anyone else I feel like creating, for that matter) gets bonus points.
