Goals

Since we've hit January, people are making all sorts of goals for themselves, and in my circles that means a lot of book-related goals. For some it's how much, for some it's more about what type of books. Whether your plan is to read one book for each week of the year, to make your way through the TBR pile, to concentrate on catching up on some of the classic novels you meant to read but just haven't gotten around to, to spend more time with books you enjoy instead of the ones you feel you "should" be reading, or even to scale back on your book spending habits (that one's particularly crazy), book-related goals are way more fun than the standard "diet and exercise" fare.

Last year I aimed to read 65 books for the year. Novellas counted, short stories and comic books did not. Since I came short of that goal by 3 books, it seems a good-sized goal for me to reach for again this year. As for the "what" specifically, I'm just planning to follow my whims on that one. Reading loses some of the fun when it's something I have to read.

So how about the rest of you? What are your book-related goals for 2013? Or are you planning to focus more on the writing side of things this year? Let me know, because I am a nosy critter.
