Banished!
It's early in 2013, and while some people are making resolutions, others are worrying about which words they'd love to live the rest of their lives without ever hearing again. The list of words to be banished includes things like YOLO, trending, superfood, and... spoiler alert? Hmm. I can't say I agree with more than half the words on their list, but that's really part of what makes language so interesting. It's always growing and changing, with new words popping up all the time while others fall out of use.
Of course, we all have words that make us grit our teeth whenever we hear them being used, whether because it's got a specifically negative connotation for us or just because something about the way it sounds grates on us.
