Web 2.0

Okay folks,

This has been a long time coming but it must be said:
WEB 2.0 SUCKS!

Oh, I know what ya'll are thinking. OH NO HE DIDN'T.
Oh, yes I did!

WEB 2.0 is the MOST overrated trend in the history of the internet (including ytmnd.com)

Like most things it started out really cool:
"Hey those glassy button effects on the logo looks classy."
"Those diagonal pinstripes sure are neat."
"The reflection effect sure is cool."

But now adays EVERYTHING is web2.0. Huge 3-page long scrolls. Gigantic overbearing Arial font. Every fucking page on the internet is WHITE with colored buttons and gradiant gray accents. YA-fucking-WN.

And guess what folks? You cant do a damn thing with WEB 2.0 and CSS that a decent designer can with traditional HTML. External CSS is only good for repeating design cues on multiple pages. You want to know what else is? COPY AND MOTHER FUCKING PASTE! (Ctrl C + motherfucking Ctrl V) And really, why bother with external design cues when the most intricate item on your page is an oversized curvy cornered button with a glossy overlay? Do you really need to create a standardized style cue for "ENORMOUS-FUCKING-ARIAL"?

And you want to know whats the worst fucking part about web 2.0? It takes the design aspect out of website design. Now any flunky can design a page. The only decisions one must make are as follows.

1. Which colored starburst would look best overlaid on a banner in the middle of the screen?

2. What width should I go with on these pinstripes?

3. How much white is too little white on a page?

and if you want something a little edgier?
4. which vector-based splotches and vine pattern looks as best in the background?

css, web2.0
