For your consideration....

So people are into this whole rearranging, cleaning up, improving their collections. Some are improving their book collections while others are improving their music collection. I also have a collection of my own and I am quite pleased as how diverse it has grown.

Of course, as everyone knows my collection revolves around anime and I am very proud of it. As an enthusiast, allow me to share some of the titles I have enjoyed over the years. These aren't ranked in any order. The descriptions are taken from the AniDB.net website.

Ouran High School Host Club - Ouran High School is a school for the extremely wealthy or talented. Haruhi just happens to be more talented than wealthy. Since she'd had a hair mishap the week before school and could not afford the school uniform, she was mistaken for a boy.

Wandering into the Third Music room looking for a quiet place to read, she encounters the school host club: a group of attractive young men who give their time and affections to females, for a fee. After she breaks an $80,000 vase belonging to the host club, the leader demands that she work off the money by becoming a host. When they find out Haruhi is not a boy, humor ensues.

Kino's Travels - Composed in the form of a series of short stories, this is the story of the travels of the human Kino and the talking motorbike Hermes. Kino and Hermes visit various different countries.

A country that can't live with others because of the development of telepathy (a country that understand people's pain); a country that are striving to make everything equal, whose residents are extremely united (a country ruled by majority), etc. etc.

Then, when three days pass, they leave the country. Kino and Hermes are travelers (observers). Small ripples are formed in the usual lives of the people living in the various countries by the appearance of the unusual traveler Kino. But that is becoming a major incident that will shake up their usual lives.

What will Kino and Hermes see in their travels? And what will be left in the hearts of the people they encountered?

Code Gess: Lelouch of the Rebellion - Japan has been invaded and conquered by the Britannian Empire. Japan is now known as 'Area 11' and its citizens known as 'Elevens'. The Britannian Empire takes away Japan's autonomous power and imposes its rule through the use of 'Nightmares/Knightmares'. The Empire's rule has never faltered, but cracks have begun to show...

The Britannian youth, Lelouch, received a special power from a mysterious girl. GEASS. An absolute power which allows the user to give orders to anyone. Lelouch decided to plan the destruction of the Britannian Empire by using this as a weapon. His goals are to take revenge for his mother, and to create a world in which his little sister, Nunnally, could live in peace. All while knowing that what lies ahead is his father, the Emperor of Britannia.

Code Geass R2 - It's been one year since the failure of the Black Rebellion and the supposed death of Zero. Britannia has assigned Area 11 a "correctional education" status, where Elevens are made an example of by brute force, to try to prevent any future uprisings and suppress rebellious thoughts. Unsuspecting high school student Lelouch, oblivious to his rebellious past as Zero, stumbles upon a scheme on his life and the life of a mysterious woman known as C.C., who reveals to him his forgotten purpose and his "true" self. Destroying his assailants and declaring himself Zero once again, Lelouch sets out to finish what he started.

Clannad - Clannad is set in a high-school located in some Japanese town. Okazaki Tomoya is a third-year student who doesn't take his studies seriously. Always late for class, he's seen as a delinquent by the rest of his classmates who are busy preparing for their entrance examinations. Needless to say, he does not have too many close friends either.

Tomoya seems not to mind too - until one day he meets a girl, Furukawa Nagisa, who is left alone without friends in the school because everybody she knew already graduated. "What a clumsy girl," he thinks at first. But he can't leave her alone and so, while helping her, he meets a few other girls from his school. Although he doesn't care much about them at first, he soon opens his heart to them as they get to know each other better.

Baccano! - Baccano is Italian for noise, but light novelest Narita translates it as "stupid commotion" in the literary source of this series. Each of the stories in the series involves several unrelated plots intersecting and crossing each other as events spiral farther and farther out of control. Immortal alchemists, mafia operated speakeasies, and many other elements of pulp fiction are mashed together for a world straight out of the movies.

Mushishi - They are neither plants nor animals. They differ from other forms of life such as the micro-organisms and the fungi. Instead they resemble the primeval body of life and are generally known as "Mushi". Their existence and appearance are unknown to many and only a limited number of humans are aware of them. Ginko is a "Mushi-shi" who travels around to investigate and find out more about the "Mushi". In the process, he also lends a helping hand to people who face problems with supernatural occurances which may be related to the "Mushi".

Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei - Itoshiki Nozomu is the world's most negative person. To his way of thinking, there is no hope or meaning in this existence. Even the three kanji of his name become the two-kanji word zetsubou, "despair", when compressed. What an ironic twist of fate, then, that he becomes teacher to a class containing his precise opposite, the invincibly positive-minded Fuura Kafuka.

Zoku Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei - More crazy antics abound as Nozomu Itoshiki, a.k.a Zetsubo-sensei, who is the worlds most negative person, tries to teach class 2-H about how life is filled with despair and darkness. A harder task than it first may seem, with his students being far from ordinary themselves, including the likes of the most positive girl he has ever met, his very own stalker, a foreign exchange student with split personalities and a perfectionist acting class president, due to the fact the real class president can't be seen by anyone, among others.

Lovely Complex - Risa and Otani are always being laughed at as the comedy duo. Risa, a girl, is taller than the average girl, and Otani, a boy, is shorter than the average boy. The two are always bickering and even their teacher sees them as a comedy act. But as their friendship develops, so does Risa's feelings toward Otani.

Bakumatsu Kikantetsu Iroharihoheto - End of Edo Era - It was the last time a man lived as a samurai and fought entrusting his life and beliefs to a sword.

It was the time when long peaceful Tokugawa Dynasty began to be overshadowed triggered by the arrival of Westerners. During the upheaval, when youths were seeking for new age, there was an existence that brought turmoil and chaos. It was called Hasha no Kubi, or the Head of Conqueror. It was said that the person who could obtain the head awoke in revolution time could rule over the whole country. On the other hand, there was another shadow existence called Eternal Assassin. They have been destined to fight Hasha no Kubi in order to seal. Both had been fighting each other behind the history. Their fights have affected the history involving those who wanted the power.

Someone wanted it for themselves, someone wanted it for avenges, and someone wanted it for their ideal.

Their thoughts cross each other over the Hasha no Kubi. Their thoughts put tougher as if they were complicated gear wheels. Then, it began to move the history as if it became an engine that moved to the future.

Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo - Life for 17-year-old Makoto Konno is filled with fun days of school and hanging out with her two best friends, Chiaki and Kousuke. And then she finds herself with a strange ability to leap (or jump) back in time. A strange ability that at first saves her life, but then allows her to not be late to school, to know the answers on any surprise exams and to avoid any troublesome mishaps. It is only when Makoto chooses to use this ability to avoid some of the more personal issues that arise with her friends, do events become both complex and painfully difficult - the simple gift that she once took for granted suddenly becomes a troublesome burden.

Winner 6th Annual Tokyo Anime Awards (2007) - Anime Movie
2006 Winner of Mainichi Award (Ōfuji Noburō Award)

Nodame Cantabile - Shinichi Chiaki is the top piano student at his university and an excellent violinist, but Chiaki doesn't care about playing these instruments as much as he dreams of someday being a conductor. Chiaki, however, has several deeply rooted fears about traveling, and so finds himself "trapped" in Japan. Because he's trapped, Chiaki starts to question exactly how far he can possibly go in music, especially when he's passed over again and again for others he thinks are less worthy of musical scholarship and fame.

Recently dumped by his girlfriend for a "sausage" looking fellow, passed over for a chance to go overseas, removed from his star spot in the piano competition because he walked out on his piano instructor, Chiaki is at his limit. This is when he meets Nodame, or Megumi Noda. Nodame is a free - if filthy - spirit who reminds Chiaki that music can be fun. She reminds him what drew him to be a conductor in the first place and, in learning how to deal with Nodame, Chiaki learns how to deal with others. Chiaki begins to realize what is possible for him, even on the tiny island of Japan.

For Nodame, Chiaki is everything she isn't. Clean, neat, dedicated, studious and inherently arrogant about his accomplishments and capabilities, Chiaki constantly bullies her into being more serious about life. He sees potential in her and her abilities as a pianist that she doesn't care about. Nodame loves Chiaki and wants to be with him, but, because she's not serious about her piano studies nor her personal hygiene, Chiaki denies her affections again and again.

But Chiaki and Nodame complete each other in ways no other can, a musical compliment that neither of them can completely escape entirely. Watching them grow as people and musicians, and even as a couple, is an interesting ride.

His and Her Circumstances - Miyazawa Yukino has always been a show-off. She's always wanted to be Number One, to be the very best in everything, to be adored by all others. Then one day, she meets her match: Arima Soujiro, who seems about as perfect as she strives to be. But no one is quite what they seem ... for whenever Yukino goes home, off comes the "ojousama" facade - and on go the headbands, reading glasses, and sweats. Miss Congeniality is in fact a conniving, petty con-artist with a streak of absolute nerdy bliss. Of course, Yukino isn't the *only* one hiding a secret, since Arima himself isn't quite what he seems either. In her eager to become #1, she declares Arima as her archenemy, but then he declares his love for her ..

Honey and Clover - Takemoto Yuuta, Mayama Takumi and Morita Shinobu are three art school students, friends and flat-mates. Yuuta, the freshman, lives in terror of Morita, a very erratic sculptor.

Their routine is disrupted when their teacher, Hanamoto, introduces them to his cousin's daughter, Hagumi Hanamoto. Even though she's entered college, she looks like a middle school student. Yet despite her appearance, she's a talented sculptor and painter with several gallery showings already in her portfolio. Naturally, all the men around her fall in love with her.

Honey and Clover 2 - The sequel and final installment to the highly popular series once again delves into the life stories and love lives of Takemoto Yuuta, Mayama Takumi and Morita Shinobu. The story continues where the first season left off, after Takemoto's self-discovery journey around Japan. Of course, the love triangles and tribulations they face will continue, and eventually decide the paths to their future.

Dennou Coil - In this future, a mobile phone like technology has people wear special visors to superimpose coordinated, instant virtual images over the top of their everyday real world. This cyberspace layer, "space", interacts perfectly as you move about or touch things. It even allows children to have advanced Tamagotchi style cyberpets (very tidy!), or to make video calls using simple hand gestures alone.

However, something is happening in Daikoku which the adults have not yet noticed. Cyberpets go missing, dangerous spherical robots patrol the skies and a mysterious gigantic character named Satchii seems connected to it all.

When 6th grader Yasako moves to Daikoku to be with family, her beloved pet goes missing too, and she is drawn into the affairs of a 'Cyberpet Recovery Agency' run by the local children.

Seirei no Moribito - 5 Centimeters per Second - A movie consisting of three parts, basically telling the story of two people, Tohno Takaki and Shinohara Akari, who were close friends but gradually grow farther and farther apart as time moves on. Takaki and Akari become separated because of their families yet continue to exchange contact in the form of eMails. Yet as time continues to trudge on, their contact with one another begins to cease. Years pass and the rift between them grows ever larger. However, Takaki remembers the times they have shared together, but as life continues to unfold for him, he wonders if he would be given the chance to meet Akari again as the tale embarks on Takaki's realization of the world and people around him.

Part 1 - The Chosen Cherry Blossoms (26 min): Because of family movement, Shinohara Akari had leave Tokyo upon graduation from elementary school. The deep feelings between Takaki and Akari for each other keep them in contact, but they worry they may not meet again. Then, one day, Takaki learns that his family will move from Tokyo to an island in the far south of Japan, so he decides to use this last opportunity visit Akari by train...
