HAPPY NEW YEAR 2014!

Jan 04, 2014 17:39

Before last year started, I wrote down a list of goals I wanted to fulfill for the coming year. Looking back at it now, I unfortunately didn't even succeed on more than half. I came close, but didn't quite make it to being debt-free, w/c of course, caused me to fail at trying to save money in the bank. I failed to spend nothing on fandom; I only succeeded in spending less on them. I was able to go out on more trips, in fact, I succeeded in visiting at least 2 other countries (I got to go to 3!) but I haven't been able to go out with friends at least once a month. I lost weight, but it was because I became sick too much the past year. I'd like to believe I succeeded in giving more effort to the L'Arc~en~Ciel Ph Street Team, and I was able to volunteer for something (but I know I haven't volunteered enough.) I'm about halfway over checking Twitter and Facebook every few minutes, and I think I managed to read at least 10 books last year. I succeeded in my 52-movie challenge (technically I got to see 50, but I saw two movies twice) but I failed to learn more Japanese b/c I didn't watch a lot of anime, variety shows, dorama, or movies last year. I'm still stuck w/ my old job, and I still haven't finished my certification course from Uni.

I therefore carry over those that I was unable to fulfill on to the next year, level up on some goals (read 20 books for 2014!) and then some. Generally, the theme for me this year is:

I'm feeling pretty positive this year so far, and I'm excited as to what will happen to me in the near future.

Let me also let you in on what I've been up to these days: I started the year extremely engrossed in Anne Stuart's books - I've read five of them and it's not even January 5th! I blame her being a fan of Gackt - I became curious with her work, and I found some books almost impossible to put down once I started.

I also moved from my beloved Softbank 740SC to a hand-me-down (I paid my sister for it, is it considered as such? lol) HTC Desire Z. I haven't been able to maximize its potentials (and I miss my Softbank a lot) but I'm working on it. I love the eBook reader and the language apps. I'm still staying with my Creative ZEN portable music player, but I've been using the phone to watch videos (ehem, Jinsei x Kimi = tour, ehem) while on the way to work. Oh, I also have KakaoTalk and Instagram now, lol!

I've also been busy exploring new music (thanks to Jpopsuki's annual freeleech period) and I'm loving it so far. I realized it's nice to mix up old and new sometimes. I recently became a fan of Hemenway, SPYAIR, and The RiCECOOKERS. I've listened to My First Story but I haven't decided yet if I like them or not. I found the music good, but the vocalist still lacking (or maybe I am subconsciously comparing the Morita brothers.) I also started listening to Crossfaith: I also haven't decided if I like them yet.

Aside from that I've been sleeping a lot lately and I don't know why. Signs of aging, maybe. I'm turning 29 this year!

So there, I wish you a happy new year, and I pray for strength for all of us to fulfill all our goals and reach our dreams this 2014.
As I tweeted when the year started: live the dreams with less apprehensions! ^_^

.

tl;dr, pictures, what i feel this very second, greetings
