The Pisay 2002 yearbook staff (AKA Jaafgie) decided to put up a Multiply account to facilitate the creation of our high school yearbook, which sadly hasn't come out after 5 years. In said Multiply site, they put up our GRAD PICS and the WRITEUPS that would go into the said yearbook. My gawd! Bwahaha. Blast from the past. I'm having a ball looking at all the grad pics and reading the writeups. Unfortunately, one of my best friends in the whole world (a Ms. Celeste Bautista) is missing both her grad pics and writeup. I don't have her grad pic (shame on me) because she never gave me one and they lost the writeup I made. I honestly don't remember what I wrote, although I get the feeling that it was something along the lines of her "ice queen" persona hiding a decidedly mushy, trashy-novel-reading individual :p

Finally got to finish Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke by sneaking in 15-30 minutes of precious reading time every day. I liked it immensely. Her style comes off as a mix of Neil Gaiman and Tolkien - Gaiman with the dark sense of humor and Tolkien with the intricate world and history she's created. Definitely looking forward to the sequel and to her collection of short stories. Actually, the short stories are already out - I'm just hoping that the local bookstores carry it. Will have to check Fully Booked when I go on my days off (only 3 more days!!!) as I've totally lost my faith in Powerbooks.

It's interesting to note that when the General Manager is here, the office is as quiet as a grave. When he isn't here, a decidedly eclectic playlist courtesy of someone from Accounting takes over. To date, I've heard HSM, Eraserheads, Sugarfree, Salbakuta, Avril Lavigne, and a host of others I can't remember at the moment.

Incidentally, Sam Milby is here in the resort. Wehehe. He looks shorter in person.
