What comedy albums do you have? Is it like musical comedy or stand up?

Musical comedy--a bunch of Stephen Lynch and Weird Al albums, as well as the soundtrack to "This Is Spinal Tap."

Ahh! Now I know what you mean. I am a little more familiar with Australian musical comedy, given I am from there (and it is partly what got me into comedy in general), but I think it'd be hard to find someone who hasn't heard a single Weird Al song :)

I actually don't think it would be as hard as you think--a lot of song parodies by other people have been incorrectly attributed to Weird Al.

Hmm. Maybe I am just more familiar of the time when he was the only person really doing them, and so I heard them on the radio?

I think he's the only person who has received mainstream success for doing song parodies, so perhaps that's why a lot of them are incorrectly credited to him. I believe "White and Nerdy" was the first of his songs in a long while to be played on non-comedy radio. I've heard that his songs were played on regular radio much more often in the 1980s.

Interesting! I wasn't aware of that. Mind you, I was only born in the 80s ;) In any case, I would think Australian radio and US radio are rather different, and may have played him at different times. Then again, music isn't one of my strong knowledge points, so I wouldn't know!
