Today I was still in wedding mode so went shopping to try and price/look at stuff. I hit a few thrift stores and ended up at Garden Ridge which had lots of things I've been looking for. They have jars that will be perfect for the cookie table so I am very excited about that! They're not too expensive, either.
I also found some great green candle holders on clearance! They were only 25 cents each so I bought all that they had (65). I decided to try and make up a mock centerpiece so I went to hobby lobby to pick up some ribbon and got some flowers from wild oats.
I did a double-layer of ribbon over the lip of the jar.
Then put 5 of the candles around it. (The candle holders don't look so bright green in person). This will be on a dark brown linen.
I think this'll work. Simple, pretty and cheap. I don't mind if they're ordinary.
While at Hobby Lobby I also bought some picture frames (they were half off). They are a rustic wood finish. I bought two small ones and a big one (for wedding pictures of our parents and a picture of us). I think I'll make little tags with names (maybe dates?). I put one together quickly to see what it would look like.
I'll probably display the pictures together. I'm also considering soliciting my other family members for wedding pictures and displaying those around. I think it would be a nice touch.
I am warming up to the idea of having a light/dusty purple as an accent color. I am REALLY excited to put together the cookie table stuff and wish I could do it now!
