The obsessive VK fans really quite frankly piss me off and almost make me want to never listen to another VK band in my life. More so for the fans who think their "OMFGWTFBBQ!!@13!@elephant~@!! FAVBAND!!321" is a million times better than any mainstream band.
YES. I agree with you a thousand percent. I am so sick of people who haven't even listened to anything but anime theme songs and this one vk mix cd someone gave them going ZOMG THIS IS THE BEST BAND ON THE FACE OF THE PLANET OMGOMGOMGOMG. It makes people take us less seriously when they see the fans spazzing out like that and clearly not knowing what they're talking about. Like, I love Miyavi to an almost unhealthy level, but every time someone says "he's the best guitarist who's ever lived" in a youtube comment, the Yngwie Malmsteen fans come out like sharks smelling blood in the water. And then there are the people who say stuff like, "Japanese music is so much more interesting and creative than American music!" without even listening to any American stuff other than what they hear on the radio. How can you even make a blanket statement like that? It's like, just stop it, you guys. You're making us look bad. If you turn it into some kind of JAPAN IS SUPERIOR thing, Americans are going to get defensive and not WANT to like what they're hearing and they're not going to give it a chance. Why do they not get that? Maybe they just don't care because they want to feel special and ~yooneek~ and shit?
Sorry about the rant, but that's something that's been bugging me a lot too XD

OMG. I agree with all of that. Like, it's not longer "I like this band" or "I like this band" anymore when they take it to that level. Then it's just fucking embarrassing for those of us who actually know what good music is. :\
