Hon, you speak my mind. Although I have to admit I met a bunch of nice and cool people even amongst the Diru fans who are able to make fun of their idols, still love the music AND drool after the musicians. For me, the perfect combination

I agree, I've met some really cool people in this fandom, and it's awesome being able to talk to people who share interests with you AND are cool... it's just a real shame that you have to deal with so many idiots to get to those people, isn't it

Funny, that you say you wished more grown-up would listen to Diru. I just had the very same conversation with a friend of mine. I mean, the Dirus always said they want these kind of fans, but honestly, how they behave doesn't show it. Well, and then there's the 'problem' that many people my age just aren't natural born fans, you know. They don't go to concerts that much and if they miss one band, it's okay since another will play soon

Yeah, I see what you mean. But I can't fault them too much, after seeing the kind of bullshit their management tends to put them through. I think Japanese bands tend to be much more under the thumb of their record labels than American and European bands are, too. Just from accounts I've heard from people who've been exposed to the Japanese music industry. I feel bad for them in some ways, but that doesn't mean I have to like what's going on XD

Re: ASKDJFLSJLDKFJ FINALLY REPLYINGseinen_noOctober 6 2008, 21:23:22 UTC
I know with the management. When I say 'them' or the Dirus, I usually mean the management as I know the band can't help it. But it's like when I'm having problems in the company, then I go to my direct boss to complain and it's her job to deal with the boss above her. I only have the band to complain to them and although they won't listen, I will still do that. This is music, not fucking politics and I just don't like dishonesty and when people can't admit that they talked some shit.
Nobody screams names? o-O. What a boring concert XD Well, I hate these "Shinya, aishiteru" screams a lot, but other than that. Man, in pratteln, Toshiya was so sexy and right before my wide-open eyes, I HAD to scream his name. Especially since the rest of the kids there were laconic as if it was a service at church. Heh, and that although usually I don't scream like a rabid fangirl, but there I had to XD
Gods, don't talk about Die and eating. I wanna force-feed him truly.
Re: ASKDJFLSJLDKFJ FINALLY REPLYINGgengaoruOctober 6 2008, 21:29:37 UTC
Yeah, but I gather that the companies have a pretty tight grip on even what the bands say, so even "I'm sorry, we fucked up" is often out of the question for them. Their management is definitely pissing me off right now, either way.
Well, some people will scream names but it's mostly fangirls. I don't want people to think I'm a fangirl. But "EAT SOMETHING, DIE" is mean enough not to be fangirly XD I'm such a bitch.
Re: ASKDJFLSJLDKFJ FINALLY REPLYINGseinen_noOctober 6 2008, 21:31:57 UTC
Trust me, they piss me off enough to be angry. A fan is not a god-given thing and doesn't necessarily last forever *sighs*
Haha, well, I think I AM a fangirl after all. I've always been one, though not the screamy type or the fainting type or like the ones who suddenly start crying when the show's over XD And I think he needs mean. So scream that!
Re: ASKDJFLSJLDKFJ FINALLY REPLYINGgengaoruOctober 6 2008, 21:41:18 UTC
Yup, the management at least needs to be respecting us more, you're right. And sometimes I think the band does too, although at least SOME of them I think appreciate us. I dunno, I'm trying not to get too philosophical about the whole thing, I'm always happier when I don't

I dunno, sometimes I have to be philosophical about these things, because some things just need to be said, even if I tell them my friends. Especially right now when some things really piss me off. We are even thinking about writing them a letter or an email (knowing they'll never read it), starting out "We're 3 girls from Germany, are all above 30 and this is not a fangirl-letter" XD
Well, I do fangirl with my friends at times, but - as you said - I try not to annoy everybody with it. Sometimes it's so sweet when my colleagues ask me about Diru (yeah, they all know the name XD) and my oldest colleague (she's almost 60) said that Kao looks hot. That's fun, you know. Gosh, but I would never fangirl that much when my b-friend is present. I wouldn't want him to point out how sexy Angelina Jolie or whoever is either.
Re: ASKDJFLSJLDKFJ FINALLY REPLYINGgengaoruOctober 7 2008, 08:44:50 UTC
I write Kaoru letters telling him how annoyed I am with him all the time XD I know he won't read them, but it's therapeutic.
My mom was always so cute about my crush on Toshiya when I was a kid and I didn't have the sense not to fangirl in front of everyone. She was always so sweet about it, I wonder how she put up with me. I guess that was easier to deal with than my RAGING MOOD SWINGS, though. As for my boyfriend, we have the same taste in women so I don't care if he comments on them, as long as it's nice things XD Hearing people insult celebrities other than Paris Hilton makes me feel insecure.
Re: ASKDJFLSJLDKFJ FINALLY REPLYINGseinen_noOctober 7 2008, 09:45:22 UTC
Well, I think even in my teenage time i was a moderate fangirl. I always was passionate about them, yeah, but never shoved it into everybody's face.
Haha, I did write them a couple of mails in the beginning of this year, telling that they DO have fans who have to work to make a living and have to tell when they need holidays so they better get their butts moving and give me tourdates. Weren't very nice mails either XD And, as you say, it's therapeutic.
But even if you have the same taste in women, wouldn't it bother you if he constantly pointed out how hot some things are in some other woman? I think it would bother me. Not right away, but if it'd happen constantly.
My dad was so sweet the other day (mark, he's over 60 XD). He really asked me when my little Japanese are coming back here and I said that I don't know and they don't give us the tourdates, so he said "I would quit their friendship". That was kinda sweet.
