PaleyFest 2008 - Buffy. Kind of.
Home at last. As much as I like to travel and go places, I'm always so happy to be home (even if it's only been a few days). Happy Easter.
I made a phone post on Thursday night about hanging out at the Arclight, but it went and posted privately. It's there now, but I'll recap here and post what pictures I have.
I went and met up with H., Heather and her dad, and waited for Roz and Jen to get there. H. and I didn't have tickets for the panel so we were there for moral support and stalking opportunities, lol. We stayed with everyone in line until they got up to the door. The line was all the way around the building. And there were some people with scary t-shirts and/or outfits. There was a standby line, but we figured maybe a handful of people would get in from that. So we just went over to the entrance of the Arclight to hang out. We noticed flashes and voices coming from above us and lo and behold, it's the red carpet area up on the patio.
We could hear shouts for Amber (Benson) and Seth (Green). We moved over a little and could peek up and see people as they walked along the backdrop. Kristin from E! was up in the corner doing interviews whenever someone arrived. Between celebs she would stare out at the courtyard where we were standing.
So we spent the next hour or so trying to see who was arriving, lol. We spotted a few of the cast! I didn't think any of my pics would turn out since I was zooming and it was getting dark. But you can still tell who it is.

We figured we would leave when we saw Kristin pack up and go. She was downstairs on her phone when we noticed some more flashes from above and saw James Marsters getting his pic taken. We were tempted to go in and tell Kristin that she'd missed him, lol.

The rest of the cast had come down the stairs inside and headed into the dome. But since James was late, they brought him out through the doors we were standing next to and right by us. Like, a couple feet from us. I waved and H. said "Hi" but we didn't ask him to stop 'cause we were afraid of security. Someone said that the cast was out signing for the standby line, so maybe he was headed over there. Darn us not following! We didn't hear any commotion coming from down there so we had no idea if that actually did happen. But we were excited about at least being close to James.
We went in to use the restroom, after making sure it was ok with the security guys milling around in the area. I just went and washed my hands and was waiting in the little hallway for H. when Joss Whedon walks right in front of me on his way to the bathroom (Gen + Bathroom = Celeb Sightings). H. was still in there so I was giggling imagining him looking up and randomly seeing Joss. Hee. When he came out we both did little fan squees with points and OMGs. Haha. Too funny. We should've waited and said something to him, but again, chickens. We saw Michael Ausiello out there too.
It was after 8 when we saw Joss so we were all, "Dude they must be showing an entire episode for these guys to still be out here." We figured we weren't going to see anything else right then and wandered across the street to get something to eat. Went back and stood around in the cold to wait for the panel to get out. Roz, Jen and Heather stayed inside to get some autographs and pics, then came out and joined us. At one point we saw flashes and a little crowd inside. Roz went in and said it was the writers. We waited a while, but no luck on any more Buffy sightings. We did see other people though. Roz spotted Matthew Perry coming out and she, H. and I kind of chased him down. Roz got a pic. Shortly after that Roz and H. said they saw America Ferrara. I couldn't see her face, and she was on the phone so we didn't bug her. But there were two sightings! The Arclight is the place to be, yo.
So we finally gave up around 10:45 and split up. Didn't get to see the panel, or meet anyone, but it was still a lot of fun. I'm glad I decided to go hang. Plus, it made the drive down to San Diego a lot shorter than it would've been. Heh.
One last thing: Video of Sarah, Seth and Michelle, with a little snippet of James at the end. H. and I were cursing the publicist or whoever that was blocking our view.
