[Dean's standing in town, staring into a shop window. There's something akin to slight longing in his eyes, but it's gone after he blinks. There's a small sigh, before he shakes his head. He spent all his damned money on christmas, and now he's seen these on display. Typical.
The usual run of Winchester luck.
He won't even mention them to anybody else, even with his birthday around the corner. Something else he won't be mentioning to anyone else.
But whatever. He'll look a little longer before turning away to head off down the street. He's not even out for any particular reason, just to try and keep his mind off the bad feelings gnawing in his stomach from the call he made the day before. to be fair, it's not just her, he's not been so active on the network since being back, he's doing his damnedest to keep Lucas away - and he's not even sure why that is much anymore. He says his mom, but it's not even that why he's keeping him at arms length and keeping the boy scared anymore - he's spending longer outside (his job, window shopping, hunting - a lot of hunting - anything), and he even skipped out on the new years party without replying to the invite (he'd been kind of hoping the family hadn't wanted to go to to the christmas party either, but they unfortunately had).]
