So, I've now taken to capturing Middle Eastern Diplomats like so many Pokemon. EREKAT! I CHOOSE YOU! I now have the head Palestinian negotiator, one of two Oslo negotiators, and I may get a former US ambassador to Israel during this period and th Syrian foreign minister or Vice Foreign minister. I could have gotten two diplomats involved with the Geneva Accords (former diplomats that put together an agreement to illustrate a point), but they're like the "Weedles" of the diplomatic world. They all once had power, but rather small and were worms, are currently in cocoons (I forget what Weedle evolved into) and may one day serve a purpose, but are currently kinda useless. I leave on a cruise for Lebannon Fri, arrive Sat morning, and from there we go to Beiruit with a possible meeting with the Syrian Foreign or Vice Foreign Minister, then the night in Beiruit where we will eat Lebanese food and enjoy the night life, which I heard is kickin'.
Stuff is suddenly getting busy here, with a letter due on Monday about a possible project on conflict resolution that SHOULD be implimentable. Initially I wanted to work on a project I had in mind about Iraq and Civil Society, but it seems like around here people don't get that sort of thing so I'm narrowing. I also have a paper on Saudi Arabia I need to get working on with REALLY shitty resources (I can't access the MSU database because of proxy settings).
Also, with all the mediation stuff I'm doing I'm looking at setting up a mediation committee for MSUMUN next year. I sent out some basic ideas, but I'm going to see what I can do about getting our staff free training. It could be damn sweet. Well, I'm about out of time, probably update Sunday after I get back. See you folks later.
